Biden tells Netanyahu immediate ceasefire is 'essential'

Seems Netanyahu has come to the end of his rope as far as the US government are concerned so in a 30 minute phone call today Biden has told Netanyahu enough is enough.

Not before time either.

The White House has just published an official record of the call between the president and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu.

It says the two leaders discussed the situation in Gaza, with Biden "emphasising that the strikes on humanitarian workers and the overall humanitarian situation are unacceptable".

Biden is also said to have made clear the need for Israel to "announce and implement a series of specific, concrete, and measurable steps to address civilian harm, humanitarian suffering, and the safety of aid workers".

The readout adds that Biden told his Israeli counterpart, the US's policy "with respect to Gaza will be determined by our assessment of Israel’s immediate action on these steps" - and stressed that an immediate ceasefire "is essential to stabilize and improve the humanitarian situation and protect innocent civilians".

Netanyahu's office is yet to issue its readout of the call.

ETA .. yeah .. it's for votes ... Biden was going to hold an annual White House dinner for Muslim 'leaders' in this country. Pretty much everyone declined the invitation. I think Bibi has probably made his point.

Seems it might be time for him to think hard about not killing more children.

But like I always say, if Hamas hadn't done what they did, Bibi couldn't do what he is now. Sometimes when you poke the lion, you may find that you can't just walk away without getting wounded. Perhaps a lesson can be learned by people that might think of doing this again.

And the fact of the matter is, Israel isn't innocent either. You'd think people would get sick and tired of being angry and full of hate every single day of their lives. Seems that isn't so. So GREVIENCE keeps this never-ending feud between Jews and Muslims going. It will only end when one or both don't exist. Otherwise, nope.

And honestly, seems to me Biden is simply trying to stop Israel from further killing of innocent people, justified or not. Anyone rooting for more war and killings needs a little more empathy for fellow human beings.

The x link I had with close up edits and red circles seems to be scrubbed. But if you can find a full unedited version there are several shots that clearly show one of the 3 with an AK slung under one arm partially concealed under his jacket. In several frames you see the whole firearm.

Anyone calling for Israel to stop needs to understand that Hamas and the 'palestinians' won't. They said they'll never stop attacking until Israel is destroyed and the Jews are genocided. All the videos I've seen have some blur to them, hard to see detail on the person.

Under most circumstances, it is perfectly legal to bomb enemy combatants in a war, even if they're not actively attacking you.

This is the fundamental difference between war and the rules of self-defense in everyday life that a lot of people fail to understand.

This is also a good reason why the Palestinians should stop going to war with Israel, and when they do, maybe don't use child soldiers.

Since CNN is becoming less radical (new CEO), their reaction was the same as yours. The anchor said they will try to get a transcript from Netanyahu's people, because the White House is not being forthcoming. (fyi: Biden didn't wake up until 11:00am yesterday. Trying to keep up with Trump last week wore him out.)
