Mystery of the universe: Fibonacci sequence - the evolution of life in numbers.

Your life goes from moment to moment, in the new moment you have with you what you experienced in the former moment, or at least you take with you what you learned and gained from the former moment. This can be visualised in the Fibonacci sequence. Life evolves and nothing gets lost.

You have a moment: number 1
The next moment you take with you what you gained from the first moment: 1 + 1 = 2
Next you take again what you gained from the former moment: 2 + 1 = 3
Then again: 3 + 2 = 5

This is how the sequence continues.

Life is an expanding spiral, it only adds to itself.

They say the universe is in a state of entropy, everything will eventually become destroyed. Well, with life it is the opposite, life only adds up to itself. Life grows. Eternal life. There's a system that can be found in the universe, and it is life, as the Bible mentions Jesus was talking about. In life, every step you take with you what you gained the prior step. In life there is no decay.

And the exponentiality of the sequence implies things happen faster as the next step occurs. That is one interesting sequence of numbers to ponder.

The entropy really just explains the reason why things tend to go haywire. Quantum theory is leading us to believe the input of will of thought influences the outcome. Truly, it is crazy data that is hard to wrap our minds around properly. Yet, it is real as me typing this reply and edit.

I was taught the Fibonacci series in an early college art class and how it applied to art and design. It appears in nature as well and is a very significant algorithm IMO. However, I believe that entropy in the form of an ever-expanding universe is the final stage of all things. It may even be an oscillating universe expanding and contracting, but the end of all life is still the result.

Life eats itself like the ouroboros eats its own tail. At most it is static, shrinking and growing at the same rate. Everything that lives feeds off of death to continue living and then finally dies. Growth can only be achieved through violence, death, and destruction, but it is always short-lived.

Wait until you get old like me, every step is a struggle, decay is the rule, and you lose things as you go along until you finally lose your life.

Growth can also occur in a peaceful environment where the stress allows certain features to slowly awakens other DNA strands in an organism. Doesn't have to be violent to grow an organism's DNA awakening.

I’ve always loved this sequence as an admirer and observer of nature. Simple, elegant, and sensible. Seen from galaxies to flowers to mollusks to hurricanes.

Outside of crystalline formations, nature seems to shun right angles for curves.

Not sure why, but the Golden Ratio comes to mind here.

So, what is considered to be at a low enough stress level to promote growth, and for whom? How is the growth of one species not a threat in some way to other species or even the very environment it exists in? Growth itself is a violent act of aggression if we are talking about invasive species or cancer cells within an organism. Peace is an abstract concept that has nothing to do with survival or growth unless it was the Roman perspective in a Pax Romana situation, to the victor belongs the spoils of war.

To be clear I mean if peace equals growth, then at what cost? That would have been a good question for Oppenheimer after the U.S. dropped the bomb, and a good question for the Japanese as well.

You know why the Golden Ratio comes to mind? It's because that is the Fibonacci series, as is the Golden Mean and the Golden Rule.

If you really want to get far out, study acoustic harmony theory, and waveform physics as applied to radio frequencies, then go back to the rejected theories of aether and the harmony of the spheres.

They (humans) also used to say the earth was flat (well, that erronuous idea, falsehood, was disproven, but it took quite a while, there are even a few holdouts left who still believe it, or at least say they do). They also say our sun will die out and not remain forever, and then take the earth with it. You probably shouldn't believe everything the so-perceived "wise men" of this world tell you, especially when it contradicts something the Bible (and its Author, the Creator of the universe and the earth) says. Regarding the earth, the Bible assures us: “Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever.” (Ecclesiastes 1:4, New International Version). God promises that the earth “will not be made to totter to time indefinite, or forever.” (Psalm 104:5) If you trust the One who created us, the universe and the earth, then you can be assured that our planet Earth will not be destroyed by any cataclysm such as our sun dying.

After all, the Bible warns: “A fool will believe anything.”—PROVERBS 14:15, TODAY’S ENGLISH VERSION.

In ancient times when the Bible was being written, there was much speculation about how the earth was held in space. Some believed that the earth was supported by four elephants standing on a big sea turtle. Aristotle, a Greek philosopher and scientist of the fourth century B.C.E., taught that the earth could never hang in empty space. Instead, he taught that the heavenly bodies were fixed to the surface of solid, transparent spheres, with each sphere nested within another sphere. Supposedly the earth was on the innermost sphere, and the outermost sphere held the stars.

Yet, rather than reflect the fanciful, unscientific views existing at the time of its writing, the Bible simply stated (in about the year 1473 B.C.E.): “[God is] hanging the earth upon nothing.” (Job 26:7) In the original Hebrew, the word for “nothing” used here means “not any thing,” and this is the only time it occurs in the Bible. The picture it presents of an earth surrounded by empty space is recognized by scholars as a remarkable vision for its time. The Theological Wordbook of the Old Testament says: “Job 26:7 strikingly pictures the then-known world as suspended in space, thereby anticipating future scientific discovery.”

The Bible’s accurate statement predated Aristotle by over 1,100 years. Yet, Aristotle’s views continued to be taught as fact for some 2,000 years after his death! Finally, in 1687 C.E., Sir Isaac Newton published his findings that the earth was held in space in relation to other heavenly objects by mutual attraction, that is, gravity. But that was close to 3,200 years after the Bible had stated with elegant simplicity that the earth is hanging “upon nothing.”

Yes, nearly 3,500 years ago, the Bible correctly noted that the earth has no visible support, a fact that is in harmony with the more recently understood laws of gravity and motion. “How Job knew the truth,” said one scholar, “is a question not easily solved by those who deny the inspiration of Holy Scripture.”

The shape of the earth. The Encyclopedia Americana said: “The earliest known image that men had of the earth was that it was a flat, rigid platform at the center of the universe. . . . The concept of a spherical earth was not widely accepted until the Renaissance.” Some early navigators even feared that they might sail off the edge of the flat earth. But then the introduction of the compass and other advancements made possible longer ocean voyages. These “voyages of discovery,” another encyclopedia explains, “showed that the world was round, not flat as most people had believed.”

Yet, long before such voyages, about 2,700 years ago, the Bible said: “There is One who is dwelling above the circle of the earth.” (Isaiah 40:22) The Hebrew word here translated “circle” can also mean “sphere,” as various reference works note. Other Bible translations, therefore, say, “the globe of the earth” (Douay Version) and, “the round earth.”—Moffatt.

Thus, the Bible was not influenced by the unscientific views prevalent at the time regarding the earth’s support and its shape. The reason is simple: The Author of the Bible is the Author of the universe. He created the earth, so he should know what it hangs on and what its shape is. Hence, when he inspired the Bible, he saw to it that no unscientific views were incorporated in it, however much they may have been believed by others at the time. Or even till today, such as this set of philosophies/ideas, myths/false stories, that have already been proven false (so many times, yet this is ignored by those still promoting and believing them in spite of that, even teaching them in schools and universities):

The composition of living things. “Jehovah God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground,” Genesis 2:7 states. The World Book Encyclopedia says: “All the chemical elements that make up living things are also present in nonliving matter.” So all the basic chemicals that make up living organisms, including man, are also found in the earth itself. This harmonizes with the Bible’s statement that identifies the material God used in creating humans and all other living things.

“According to their kinds.” The Bible states that God created the first human pair and that from them all other humans descended. (Genesis 1:26-28; 3:20) It says that other living things, such as fish, birds, and mammals, did the same, coming forth “according to their kinds.” (Genesis 1:11, 12, 21, 24, 25) This is just what scientists have found in the natural creation, that every living thing comes from a parent of like kind. There is no exception. In this regard physicist Raymo observes: “Life makes life; it happens all the time in every cell. But how did nonlife make life? It is one of the biggest unanswered questions in biology, and so far biologists can offer little more than wild guesses. Somehow inanimate matter managed to get itself organized in an animate way. . . . The author of Genesis may have had it right, after all.”

Something existent appearing to have no solid foundation, like flying for no particular reason, and belief in such was probably considered sorcery by some. It sure leans to an idea of magic though something resting on a solid foundation is also something made by an Eternal Creator.
