That's nice of him to contribute to a charity.
But I'm also fairly sure that the charity has been running for more than 4 years, and that others have contributed too.
After all, Trump honoured the charity back in 2020, in the White House. Why didn't he go the whole way back then and pay off the mortgage then, saving the family from years of financial difficulty and anguish? The timing does seem a bit 'PR stunt-ish'.
I doubt you did or you would have heard it there he said that Trump made a donation towards paying off the mortgage.

That's just not true.

Your arguing semantics if he donated enough to pay off the mortgage knowing that is what the charity would do is the same. Then how took the time to honor the NYPD officer like it or not he did good. I'm not going to speculate why he did it that is between him and God. But his actions were admirable as his widow and young child now have a home that they cannot lose . This is the first NYPD officer to die in 2 years. And it's sad that people want to turn this into a political circus.
Why something was done really doesn't matter in the least. As the saying goes actions speak louder than words.

Donald Trump says he has donated millions to charity.
Earlier this year, Washington Post reporter David Fahrenthold set out to prove him right.
But finding evidence to support Trump’s claims turned out to be surprisingly difficult. The Republican presidential nominee provided few details. His campaign offered little help. Even Trump’s son, Eric, who runs his own charitable foundation, couldn’t cite specific donations.
Fahrenthold reached out to dozens of charities, and took to Twitter, asking his followers for leads. Despite his exhaustive efforts, he hasn't been able to come close to accounting for the $8.5 million Trump publicly pledged over a 15-year period.
The lack of evidence to support Trump’s claims has raised questions about Trump’s honesty – and just how charitable the self-described billionaire has actually been.

Yeah even I know no one is legally required to report any donation on a tax return. So this reporter isn't going to find proof unless Trump authorized him to speak with the charity. Charity donations by individuals is not reported by charities. They will only list the total contributions they receive not who donated. That is considered personal information as many donors prefer to remain anonymous.
Now having said that if he promised the money like this article claims and he didn't pay them you don't think that would have been in the news? There is plenty of screwy things done by Trump no need to worry about charities. For example the tent incident with Muammar Gaddafi. Where he claimed he had taken his money and evicted him. Reality was the local government forced Trump to remove his tent. And this was a blatant lie by Trump.
We know that Trump made a donation to Tunnels to Towers and after that donation that foundation paid off the mortgage of the family.
Not sure where you are getting the idea that we know he didn't do anything?

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy and Tunnels to Towers Chairman Frank Siller joined Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade on Thursday to discuss raising money for a slain NYPD officer.
.......
“I spoke to Officer Diller’s widow, Stephanie, and I let her know that the – the country is praying for her. New York most certainly is praying for her. And at the Tunnel To Towers Foundation is going to be there for her and that she’s not going to have to never worry about her mortgage again and that we’re going to make sure that we – that we pay it off,” Siller said.

No we don't.

That's not what I said. I said the OP's claim, Trump Just Paid Off Murdered NYPD Cop, Jonathan Diller, Family's Mortgage, is false.
I didn't claim Trump did nothing. I claimed he politicized the death of the NY cop and turned his Wake into a campaign stop. I also posted that I hoped he didn't leave the place with a big security bill because of a Trump photo-op.

This seems fairly straight forward the family and NYPD requested Trump to attend and he did. This brought out Trump supporters to align the road as the officer was laid to rest. You can hate Trump but what he did here was a good thing helping the family find closure.
Trump was invited, how hard is that to understand and comprehend?

Are you saying that because Trump was invited, he had to "bring something", and you assume that would be a cash donation? See, I was thinking it would have been more like a personally autographed pair of gold sneakers and a personally autographed Bible.
