I would think the Mullahs are not happy over this announcement ! Muslims and their ilk the world over are ???????? as anyone who has spent time in a Muslim country can imagine ..... I for one hope the young lady survives and does well in the pageant.

She'll most likely win too because of the precedent(s). Kinda like how the Patriots won the SB right after 9/11...🤔

Like that wasn't scripted! 🙄😄😄

Brave woman really.

Might be best to watch out for the likes of Mulsim extremists on the acid attack.

Because that is the kind of thing they do to women who choose to break with their nonsensical religious Sharia laws.

I'd rather see this female Saudi astronaut put forward as that country's baby steps towards giving women equal rights. Being looked at for only beauty is not moving forward with equal nor human rights issues, IMO, it's just another form of objectification of women, so of course that would be approved.

In 2019, the kingdom appointed its first female ambassador to the United States – Princess Reema bint Bandar. Last May, Saudi astronaut Rayyanah Barnawi became the first Arab woman in space when she worked as a mission specialist on the Axiom Mission 2 spaceflight to the International Space Station.

Still not equal to men

Despite all the recent social reforms, women’s status is still far from equal to men in the kingdom. Saudi Arabia was ranked 131 out of 146 countries in the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Index 2023.

This is the question everyone needs to ask.

Amidst all the reforms, one question that arises is – no matter the “progress” in Saudi Arabia, how much change have women actually seen in their everyday lives?

I think there's an earmark to study that in the recently passed spending bill.

So is that the only way for women to achieve equal rights in Saudi Arabia? via the male ruler's wallets?

Beauty contests are stupid and archaic.
That being said, I hope she is happy AND very careful in the future.
A whole lot of the Muslim world will have a problem with it.
I think her life is in danger.

She is brave because she did put her life in danger and most likely the mullah's won't allow her to live much beyond a few years to teach other women a lesson. Or they'll have her disfigured to teach other women a lesson.

It is the same basic lesson that transwomen are teaching women in the US. Only those with a penis are valuable, worthy of acclaim, awards, engaging in sports, etc. www.dailymail.co.uk... If you have a vagina, step aside because having a penis makes one smart and wise; having a vagina makes one a lesser human not worthy of the same rights or privileges as those with a penis.

I half expected to see a bird in a bourka take the stage , Fair play to Saudi Arabia as they seem to be moving forwards at a fast pace as of late with reforms but I hope this young lady has good security at all times

She's brave??? What a load of BS. She's been picked by the Ruler to represent the country BS BS BS. Let us actually see the "knock out competition" for this title. Whoops, there wasn't one so she isn't the "Miss Saudi Arabia" is she. She was picked by the Crown Prince. They are trying to look progressive and modern with this charade. Just like they have no formula one driver but want a part of the F1 season. Same with the Football/athletics etc. They are buying their way into the world stage.

Absolutely correct, she did not have to compete at all, so you hit the nail on the head, IMO.

Yep. More propaganda from MBS to give the appearance of becoming Westernized while he continues to commit crimes against humanity.

She doesn’t have a beard?
She doesn’t have male genes?
What kind of progress is this?
They just took a step backwards.
Shame on them for putting up an actual female.
What’s the world coming to?

Hey libs, am I doing it right?

Its not the crown prince she needs to fear through.

And more along the lines of the average everyday religious extremist.

Who decides to take a fascination with her.

Or think by punishing her for what they perceive to be the breaching the will of Muhammad/Allah they will somehow profit.

As to her being picked, well she is not half bad-looking, and it's a beauty contest which is not exactly a competition of skill.

I thought The Twin Towers were in New York not New England?
If it was scripted as you suggest wouldn't either the Giants or Jets have won?

They are buying their way into the world stage.

All whilst still being the biggest sponsors and exporters of Islamic extremism in the world.

As far as I can tell, yes. Welcome to different cultures that differ from your own. Unreal, right? In India, and certain other cultures that practice a caste system, women must follow behind the man in public.

Let's hope there's an earmark to mold certain cultures into what others THINK it should be. Thousands of years of tradition doesn't matter anyway, right? 🙄

No, the "Patriots" won because at that time, people were unified in support of their country. Patriotism was at an all time high for about 3 to 4 months after 9/11.

A "Patriots" win fit the narrative at the time. Had nothing to do with New England or New York teams. Like the New York teams deserved a win because the attack was in NYC. No, go a bit deeper than that, my friend.

The "Patriots" winning was a way to cement that love of country that was consciously and subconsciously engrained in just about every American persons mind at the time. It fit the narrative perfectly.
