She is a family member and she knows that family well, and is a psychologist with the inside track to that family.

To claim that you know that someone never prayed a day in their life is absurd. It doesn't matter 'how well she knows the family' or that she is a 'psychologist'. No one knows what a person does in the quiet of their bedroom before sleep when the day is over and the quiet takes over. No one knows what another person does every minute of every day.

Sorry but I have to call BS on this claim. The guy is scummy but to say that you know he never prayed a day in his life? That's too far and outrageous.

Man, even Al Sharpton can't tell the difference between selling and endorsing. No wonder this country is all F'ed up

I am still just trying to figure out why a private citizen endorsing bibles is such a problem for you

It's fairly obvious in an election year in a country where Evangelicals are many , wrapping yourself in the flag and God is an old but effective trick.

So you're saying the pure democrats would never lower themselves to pandering for votes.

You can see how ridiculous the above sentence is, right?

Trump must be desperate to go that route when he clearly has never shown, in the public eye (as the Biden's have) that he has any inkling of being religious.

Again, why does the price matter?

You also said "and anyone" in your original post. So you think anyone endorsing a bible is tacky

If you backpedal any harder you might hurt yourself

I think pushing a 60 dollar bible kind of misses the point of the bible.

I also think politicians generally shouldn't promote specific products.

Same position across all my posts so not sure if you are confused about what back peddaling means or not.

If The Bible is THE word of God why would there be a need to endorse one over another? Surely they are all the same, aren't they?.

Trumps bible is a protestant bible so, as far as I"m concerned, it's missing 7 books and is incomplete.

It stands to reason because unlike the Biden's he has never publicly displayed any religiousness in the least.

Why does he need to show it publicly to be religious? Does it say that somewhere in the bible that you have to be public with your views?

Apologies, I got mixed up on the posts. This is the one where you seem to take issue with freedom of religion"

"I think promoting/selling/endorsing* 60 dollar bibles is bad taste for anyone running for office. Possibly anyone full stop.

I think there plenty of better reasons to dislike Trump if that helps.

You say it is tacky to endorse the bible by anyone, meaning you don't think they should do it at all.

Then when called out for wanting them not to be able to use their 1st amendment rights, you backpedal and get offended that we are calling you out for saying what you are backhandedly saying.

Displaying or not displaying has nothing to do with what people do in private. Biden displays going to mass (I sat next to him in Church once 3 years ago) ... but even though he displays going to mass, he still advocates killing unborn children. So what people do on the outside isn't always what is on the inside.

It's not just showing it publicly, he has never quoted scripture or anything, I mean anything, referencing the Bible. Show me any proof he has any religiousness before the Jesus' reference and him endorsing Bible for licensing money.

Even more defamation, he is not selling bibles.

You are just too blinded by your hatred to see, otherwise you would acknowledge he is not selling anything.

Matthew 6:5-13

“Whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, because they love to pray while standing in synagogues and on street corners so that people can see them. Truly I say to you, they have their reward! But whenever you pray, go into your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.

His niece is was a witness and knows the family well, nobody else got that close to knowing whether or not Trump is religious or not. If Trump is praying, then he had better pray for votes because his tactics will blow up in his face in this venture.

Not Everyone who lives their Lives on a Basis of Faith in a Higher Power than themselves are " Evangelicals " . You are Pigeonholing a Distinct Group and Generalizing the Rest as a Whole . Do you Realize how Ignorant and Insulting that is ?

* Sorry , this Response was meant for Gortex and not you .

Yeah, so there's a different Bible for each denomination?

And aren't there Bible's that contain Gospel's and Texts that have been omitted for centuries?

All very confusing really.
Should a Presidential candidate be promoting one over another?

I certainly wouldn't like to see similar practices over here.

But like I said FF, not really for me to comment on and I don't want to derail the thread - a conversation for another time and place perhaps.👍
