Saw the video as posted last night.

Not to jump to conclusions (or even hard speculations), but this accident is disturbing; especially as more information about the ship comes out.

This ship was not that old; built, as has been stated, in 2015, it's less than 10 years old, and apparently recently inspected by the USGC for seaworthiness.

The ship is reported to have been under the command of experienced local harbor pilots at the time of the "incident" which lead to the collision.

And yet, this relatively new ship, under expert control, suffered not one, but Two complete power failures at the exact time, speed, and course, that ended with the loaded vessel (thus increasing the impact mass exponentially) ramming the bridge support. And causing the catastrophic collapse of the bridge itself.

A bridge vital to the commerce of a major American port.

A single, total failure of the ship's on-board power supply could be considered "not beyond the ream of the possible", a fluke, even. But to suffer two, total, outages speaks to either poor maintenance, which one would expect to have been noted by the Coast Guard inspectors, or something else.

Something dare I say, more sinister?

I have a "feeling" that those drawing a parallel, however "hazy" (crazy?) it may be, between (among?) this incident and the recent train derailments may not be too far from wrong.

Could we also include all those fires at food processing plants that were in the news not so long ago?

Perhaps even the troubles at Boeing might be somehow related? As the primary supplier for the US commercial air transport industry, could we not include Boeing as part of the US "infrastructure"?

Could we be fighting a very subtle "War of Assassins", but focused on the US infrastructure, rather than its military?

"Asymmetrical Warfare" taken to a strategic level?

My thoughts and sympathy are with everyone affected by this awful incident.

Such a shame its being politicised already when there are still people missing.

What does this video you posted have to do with the bridge collapse?!?

I'm confused by your post.

It's a sheriff talking about border security. I think you may have put in the wrong video number.

🤔 🥱

In case this crash turns out to be due to a cyber attack.

The Sheriff in the video I posted, wasn't just talking about our vulnerabilities at the border, but also cyber vulnerabilities in general.

His department suffered a breach that left them without their computer system for a couple of months.

Hopefully, our Space Force Guardians were monitoring the signals to the ship at the time, and would be able to discern any signs of foul play.

The ship's control systems could have been hacked from on-board the ship itself. The necessary overwrites uploaded into the controls unknowingly by a crewmember downloading infected email (or porn!) while connected to the ship's wifi system.

If so, neither the Space Force, nor even the NSA will be any the wiser.

No Indication of Terrorism in Baltimore Bridge Collapse, Says FBI

There is no “credible indication” of terrorism involved in the demise of the Francis Scott Key Bridge after it snapped at around 01:30 local time Tuesday following a container ship crashing into it.

The landmark structure in the U.S. city of Baltimore collapsed into the Patapsco River in the aftermath, however Maryland Governor Wes Moor has made clear “the preliminary investigation points to an accident. We haven’t seen any credible evidence of a terrorist attack.”

1997 MV BRIGHT FIELD suffered power loss and smashed into riverside shopping center in New Orleans , no fatality, but 66 injuries

Accident traced to blocked oil filter which caused engines to shut off and ship lose control

en.wikipedia.org...

Large engines have a low oil shutoff which detects if the engine oil loses pressure This is to prevent the engines from tearing themselves apart if lubricating oil is lost

If it was intentional, why would the crew warn MDOT to clear the bridge?

Local, and mid-level authorities tend to focus on individual "incidents", not so much "patterns"; especially if said patterns are not blatantly obvious.

At the level where more subtle patterns are contemplated, and investigated, hypothesis and actions are almost never made public.

Very much agree.

I initially saw this this morning at about 10am and I thought it had just happened and I feared there would be hundreds dead. I guess we're fortunate it happened at such a late hour that there was minimal traffic.

Still terrible for those involved. Chances of safe recovery of those missing seems slim. From my understanding, falling into very cold water is very dangerous, as the cold saps your energy. Not to mention none of those guys were exactly dressed for efficient swimming, and that's assuming they even survived the fall.

This vid on Twitter seems to have the ship turning right into the piling !!!!

XtwitterX

Wow! Even though the power only goes out for a short time, it appears to have been timed perfectly to created a perfect storm situation.

The ship appears to be turning into the piling, but it could have just been attempting a last minute recovery maneuver after having it's power restored.

Looks like reversing, caught in current. Trying to avoid. His initial corrections would have worked had they not lost power again.

I’ve had a engine going in and out on a large catamaran.

It’s not like driving a car. EXTREMELY hard, especially with wind and current.

The crew likely had no involvement with "the plan", if this was something other than an accident.

Those who actually could have set this disaster in motion would have had all the data points necessary to plot the appropriate course (course, speed, curent, ship performance under load, etc.) long before the ship ever left port.

Once underway, all that would be necessary would be to kill the power at the precise moment, and for the exact duration, that would ensure the desired effect. It is possible that the collapse of the bridge was not expected; those responsible might have sought to merely damage the bridge sufficiently to render it unusable.

In any case, the ship's crew most likely could only watch helplessly, beyond sending a warning, as time, tide and physics became inevitable.

Stop it. A diversion is standard procedure. Stop it. The main "target" wasn't people on the bridge. 🤣🤣

Stop it 🤣🤣🤣🤣

It's being described as a "Black Swan" event. Not sure why though.

If the crew had time to warn then this did not just suddenly happen. We are talking minutes to realize something wrong, then who to reach out to and then how MDOT was able to stop traffic.

Not enough time but hey glad some people were saved.

I was imagining the grief that whoever the guys were that got the call and closed the bridge had to be getting from some truck drivers on a schedule.

And then the bridge just drops into the water, right before their eyes.....

"Black Swan" event: a major event that would be difficult to predict, but, in hindsight, appears inevitable.

However, I would posit that "difficult to predict" only applies if one excludes active intervention.

I don't think an official timeline has been released yet, but I know most of the videos being posted are timelapsed.

There were several long minutes between when the first power failure occurred and when the ship struck the bridge.

Am I the only one who thought of the movie "Leave the World Behind"?

There is a scene where tankers lose control and wash up on shore.

🤣 Biden claims to have taken the train multiple times over the Francis Scott Key bridge. One problem: the bridge doesn’t have any train tracks

Thank-you!

RE: twitter.com...

Will the media do a FACT CHECK of Biden's claim? Probably not. It 's up to US to spread his blatant lie far and wide. I'm off to begin doing so right now. Bye!

Okay that just gave me the chills. There have been videos going around on the clock app about Ron/Rand Paul (the older one) talking about how we've got a "Black Swan Event" upcoming in the near future. I literally just saw a video about this 2 days ago.
