Hope is good and considered a positive and beneficial aspect of the human condition.

Its healthy never mind desirable.

All this would serve to achieve is to overload the system
a reply to: andy06shake

This daft law won't overload anything,

Which is it man? Make your mind up.

By my way of thinking all they serve to achieve via the inclusion of the word hate tagged on to the end of a charge, is to diminish other crimes of a similar nature that have occurred they deem un hateworthy.

I fully agree with this, another way to look at it is rather than diminish crimes of a similar nature, they are amplifying crimes that they tag the word hate on. I suspect the real reason for this is so that an entire group can then be seen as victimised/threatened rather than just just the specific individuals involved.

Contrary to what the BBC would like people to think, no we don’t need a tv license. It only applies to watching/streaming live broadcasts made by the BBC.

Most people don’t realise this however and pay their licence anyway. I’ve found that to be the case with many things, if only people actually understood the law.

i'd say that's not much different than paying a cable company, or streaming service. unless you watch just broadcast over the air, or some of the free streamers that don't have very much good content and shows and movies that are about a hundred years old and most aren't worth a sh@@.

Any idea what his paperclip thingamabob is all about? Enquiring minds want to know.

Could he have been involved in Project Paperclip?

Also that guy that has a problem with the top jobs being filled by white people (he mentions white enough times) seems like he either he hasn’t realised Scotland is white majority country, or he seems to have a problem with white people in these roles, solely because they are white. Sounds like a racist to me.

It's both when you choose to take two quotes from two different posts AllisVibration.

The law won't have any teeth, all it will serve to achieve is to place a mark on a person's record should they happen to be charged with such a ludicrous law.

And unless the person charged is indeed willfully committing the likes of hate crimes towards minorities and there is further evidence to suggest thats the case, any decent lawyer will have the PF for breakfast, should they actually try and prosecute in a court of law.

I doubt the Police or the Procurator Fiscals will choose to add to their workload via such prosecutions hence they won't overload anything much by my guess.

It's a minefield, like i said all crimes that involve malice and violence are hate crimes by my guess. [

Someone else said that.

To be honest, the fellows look more like some kind of rightwing racist "Beechgrove Gardens" affair would be his speed indeed.

Maybe he's magnetic?

Pretty darn backward with respect to the need for such.

I suppose that depends on where one stands.

Aye but we also pay the cable company and streaming service.

TV license is a tax for the gullible and quite frankly a form of extortion.

I just dont understand how something which is ultimately a subjective state of consciousness "hate"
can be proven objectively in court , "I was offended" , prove it then, you cannae prove you hate someone just as you cannae actually prove you felt offended by someones "hateful" comment
isnt that just hearsay ? what are we going to start taking EEG scans for court cases?

I think this is just a slow march towards citizens not being able to criticize the government , thankfully political opinions arent a protected characteristic of the equality act so i can still reserve the right to call politicians absolute #ing #s

As my partner pointed out why are people "hating" in the first place?
we are all miserable we have very little money , no prospects for the future , living in a depression for over a decade
we are being divided by government policy so of course people are going to act out , because they have engineered this problem and this is their solution and all its going to do is restrict more peoples freedoms.

I found it odd that I am agreeing with a torie voter right wing comedian Leo Kearse

he pointed out in his recent video that police Scotland said this legislation specifically targets white males from age 18-30, 3 of the things are protected characteristics under the equality act , ethnicity , age and sex
so the police Scotland policy derived from the legislation is discriminatory by its definition.

This video is about how a new law is about to begin on the 1st April 2024. It’s in Scotland however this will be able to affect anyone in the world.

While we’re all arguing over who’s country, religion or fart is better than the others, they’re getting ready for their agenda.

If we don’t start working together we’re all going to have a crap time and so will our children , no matter where you are.

Can you summarize please? It's common courtesy here on ATS.

No one wants to waste any time watching a video that has no real description as to contents.

Have a look at some statistics

specifically the number of reported hate crimes
and also the number of hate crimes that were taken to court and resulted in charges
