It’s finally here!
The first teaser trailer for the new Alien movie is here.

Alien Romulus is set to release this summer, Aug 16, 2024.
Not a fan of the chosen name, Romulus.
Just because It makes most people think of Star Trek.
But if you’re an alien fan, then you know there are a lot of Roman and Greek mythology names in the series.

In this trailer there are a few nods to the previous instalments in the series.
You will notice, the sounds, a pulse rifle, a throw back to the movie Aliens, to name a few.

I’ve looked into the leaks from the test screening. ( I love to spoil surprises for myself.)
And despite thinking I know a majority of the plot, I’m legit very excited for this movie.

Reviews are saying it’s a homage to the first Alien movie.
With the same dark, desperate type of atmosphere, where the xeno could be anywhere on the space station.

Ridley Scott and James Cameron, both consulted Fede Alverez with this movie.

Alverez is responsible for the 2013 Evil Dead reboot.
Don't breathe 1&2.
And the most recent Texas Chainsaw Massacre add in.

Although a few of those arnt the greatest imo,
The guy has made a name for himself in the horror genre.
Which makes me believe that this movie will not be a disaster like the AVP series.

Here is the trailer for Romulus.

Why oh why are they making theses film so dark and don't say it's for dramatic affect. You can't see half of the action. Also more and more films are being made with mumbling dialog.

Looks great. Hits all the feels of Alien and Aliens and happy that it's getting a cinema release.

Interesting. I wish Ridley would have continued with the Prometheus theme. They had more substance than the Alien horror flicks.

I think That’s what made the first one so good.

You barely saw the alien.
So you didn’t say by today’s standards, oh that’s horrible CGI.
Or in the late 70s, that’s a guy in a rubber suit.

The dark, cold, space atmosphere really assisted in that dread feeling.

But!
As I get older I find myself turning up the brightness of my tv, for that very reason, it being to dang dark lol

Same, but Covenant was the deciding factor. It didn’t do well in theaters

I thought it was great though

I love the "Alien" franchise. IMO, "Aliens" was a masterpiece. It's one of those rare films where everything came together to become "the whole is greater than the sum of the parts". In the top 5-6 scifi movies for sure.

I dont go to theaters anymore, but I might have to make an exception for Romulus.

Trailer looks visually good but I'm not too thrilled about the teen slasher cast. I would have preferred a proper sequel to Prometheus instead. Covenant doesn't count. The title Romulus could also point to Raised By Wolves of which Ridley Scott is also a producer and even directed the first two episodes.

I think Scott feels he has something interesting and maybe important to tell us regarding androids. Blade Runner, Alien, Prometheus, Covenant, Raised by Wolves and now Romulus all are directed or produced by Scott and have this theme.

That’s for sure.
You would think he was half droid himself with how much he has them in his movies lol jk

Brilliant franchise Alien/Prometheus but this trailor looks very similar to 'Alien' 'Aliens' which makes me think it won't offer anything new like Prometheus did.

Might still watch it as watched all the others but the trailor didn't exactly wet my pants!

Well that’s a bummer. I thoroughly enjoyed the first Prometheus. I’ve probably seen it almost 100 times…

Ya i was surprised to read that Covenant didn't do well in theaters.
I thought it was great.
But there are so many reviews on line polar to that opinion.
Saying how the prequels are trash and they shouldn't be considered cannon.

If anything, Alien 3 and Resurrection shouldn't be considered cannon.
They should be classed as fan fiction or something in my opinion.
