If New York would become the 29th constitutional carry state, they wouldn't need to do this.

New York keeps electing these Socialist Fascist Democrats so they are getting exactly what they deserve.

There is also a fence going up around the Capital on the eve of the SOTU address that will be in place they say the next 5 days.

The wall will remain surrounding the 175,000 square-foot Capitol grounds complex for five days after Biden delivers his speech. The Capitol wall is plastered with warning signs that read, “Area closed by order of the United States Capitol Police Board.

Amazing how nothing was done to prepare for 1/6, but we know they wanted what happened to happen. Why would the US government be putting up a fence unless there is going to be something discussed tonight that is going to impact the country.

NY also is looking for something. It has been a few years of chaos and 'now' suddenly the NG is deployed. FF or not I believe an attack somewhere is imminent and we all know who it will be blamed on.

This is a Police State now.

And I thought walls were raycist and didn't work. what else did I learn wrong?

Only until they win the selection, then it’s four years of whinging about illegal aliens and crime, or encouraging those illegals to commit to another summer of love lol.

Y’all rooted for the wrong hog.

In the primary video linked from X (Twitter) there isnt a single example of the NG searching people. At least not in the primary 2:13 long video. What you have are the NYC police doing the searching while the NG stands guard at various points.

Precursor to the army on the streets.....and all that entails.

Food for thought.

They are there because the Gov of New York requested their assistance along with deploying additional State Police in an attempt to curb crime in the Subways.

Which part is splitting hairs?

The thread title states that the National Guard are randomly searching people in NYC today. It's not random as its been covered by major news sources for a few weeks now. Additionally the primary video on the Twitter account does not show the National Guard doing anything but standing on guard.

Meanwhile my state made concealed carry without a permit a natural right. Funny... I see no military, no smash and grabs, no crimes other than idiots driving like morons. I think the national guard is exactly what NY needs.

I thought they already had constitutional carry there in New York? Remember the June 23rd, 2022 Supreme Court ruling, in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, where they said that the 2nd Amendment not only guarantees a citizen's right to protect themselves while at home, but also when they're away from home. It's in the constitution that you can legally carry to protect yourself, so isn't that "constitutional carry?" Because as we all know, citizens don't have to pay for their rights.

Point out where I and the Supreme Court are wrong.

NYC has over 35k Police Officers and over 125k statewide. There is no need for the NG.

There's no need for that many cops on the payroll not doing their jobs. Perhaps a culling is in order.

They are throwing the constitution in the trash and some of you are saying "good" "serves them right"

Sad.

Its all optics and they defy logic.

The biggest issues on the subway are homeless people attacking or harassing others. Theres the occasionally beatdown of unarmed women and the occasional lowlife trying to push someone onto the tracks, but....

How would a backpack search prevent that?

Sounds to me like they're looking to take pepper spray, stunguns, and pocket knives from innocent people looking to protect themselves.

The governor requested assistance from state resources. Not against the constitution. Of all hills to die on, this is not it, given the rest of the nonsense happening nationwide.

What if they are not electing them but the Dems are stealing the elections? That makes them big time victims and I have no reason to doubt the D's cheat to win every single time. Some times they don't have to but not most of the time. Most of the time they need to steal it because people don't vote for a totalitarian state if they can help it.

That’s why it’s called a slippery slope.

The unfettered invasion of your country started the slide. By design.
