Menendez had indictments back in 2015. The Senate Select Committee on Ethics said this about him then - "The Committee has determined that this conduct violated Senate Rules, federal law, and applicable standards of conduct."

He violated federal law back then, and apparently again and again since then. Why won't Ethics Committee recommend his removal?
The democrats just don't want to lose the seat.

The Menendez saga shows how little people care about the personal lives of the leaders they elect, so long as the leaders deliver for the district...or at least cause no pain.

If Republicans in the House weren't so damn wimpish, they would have left George Santos alone. They let Jimmy Kimmel and CNN and MSNBC control their actions with Santos! Grrrr.

They are afraid of criticism. Or of not doing the righteous thing. Politics is a dirty game and some people just won't be effective players because they can't deviate from their straight and narrow. I respect their convictions and commitments, but they are doing more harm than good. You can't win against someone who fights dirty, unless you're willing to fight dirty back.

Using "Super Tuesday" as cover, Joe Biden's DOJ quietly indicted Senator Bob Menendez for the THIRD time in 7 months, yesterday.

Why did Republicans jettison one of their own, George Santos, after 1 indictment, but are STILL QUIET with demanding that Democrat Menendez be removed from Congress???

Too many of them (Republicans) are involved in the same type criminal activities, is the only logical explanation I can come up with.

Menendez will not seek re-election as a Democrat, and everyone in Congress (except John Fetterman) is still afraid to force him out...like they did to Republican George Santos.

Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., who is fighting federal corruption charges, said Thursday that he will not file to run for reelection in the Democratic primary but added he hopes to be exonerated and run as an independent.

"I will not file for the Democratic primary this June," he said in a video posted on X, the former Twitter. "I am hopeful that my exoneration will take place this summer and allow me to pursue my candidacy as an independent Democrat in a general election."

Menendez has resisted pressure to step down despite mounting pressure from both Washington and his home state that he resign after he was indicted last fall on corruption charges in New York City. He pleaded not guilty.
