Well, you are not wrong but many people cant even agree on what are peoples rights. You have to settle those first because no one really seems to agree.

It's usually the extremists who don't recognise human rights. Take for example the extreme right wing people opposing abortions at all costs and arguing for torture and executions. But we have solved these issues a little after the Nuremberg trials have ended.

Human rights are a threat to any sort of extreme thinking or ideology. Extremists need to oppress the rights of others. Its how they survive. They are very hypocritical, I agree, but they often lack the self awareness to see it.
