An Elephant on a Roundabout

We thought this looked a lot like an Elephant made by trees growing - apparently for a long time given the size of the trunks - on a roundabout in Maidstone, Kent, UK. The curve of the back, the yellow of the ear. You might might not see it, but we did!

Big trees,old trees, think of all the wildlife of all kinds living there.

Anyway these trees must have been quite locally famous, as a lady wrote a song about them and loaded it on Facebook. A link is here:

This wasn’t taken recently then as the leaves are barely in bud yet, looks like early autumn maybe?

I take it they have been chopped down?

Correct.

I think the pic was taken September last year when taking the kids to school.

It's been chopped, I think to make way for building houses on green land.

I feel cheated a theway the Local Government has acted here.

Its lime they assume we will forget what it was like after about 6 months, so the pic can serve as a reminder that many will not.
