From February 19 to March 3, Kazan will host the “Games of the Future” multi-sport
international tournament for the first time in history. About 2,000 participants from more than 100 countries will take part in the competition.

"The Games of the Future is the first international multi-sport tournament in the phygital concept with a total prize fund of $10 million. It is
held from February 21 to March 3, 2024 in Kazan. More than 260 international teams and more than 2000 participants take part in the tournament from
different countries of the world.
The competition is held in 21 innovative disciplines, based on a combination of physical activity, modern technology and the digital environment, and
players will meet in five areas - from “Sports” to “Technology”.
The format of competitions in physical disciplines involves the use of developments in the field of game development, e-sports, robotics, augmented
and virtual reality, information technology and artificial intelligence. Each discipline combines fast-paced sports with the most popular video games
and technologies. As part of the upcoming tournament, 10 qualifying rounds were held - Fidgetal Games.
On February 21, 2024, the grand opening of the tournament took place, which was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin and leaders of foreign
countries from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan
Over 260 teams and over 2,000 athletes from different countries are planned to participate in the tournament in 21 disciplines (16 in the main and 5
in the extended program). Competitions are divided into 5 categories (challenges): sports, tactics, strategy, speed and technology.
The main program in the “Sports” category combines classic sports and their digital analogues: physical football, physical basketball, physical
hockey, physical martial arts, physical racing and physical skateboarding.
The “Tactics” category combines computer shooters and competitions in the laser tag arena and includes 3 disciplines: CS:GO + laser tag, Warface +
laser tag and Standoff 2 + laser tag.
The Strategy category includes popular battle arenas and a specially designed arena that tests your endurance and ingenuity in two games: Mobile
Legends: Bang Bang and Dota 2.
In the “Speed” category, the fastest possible completion of retro games Retro PC, Modern PC and Retro Console is required.
The Technology category features competitions between drones and robots (in partnership with the Robot Battle championship), which will be controlled
by participants.
The expanded program included virtual cycling racing, cybathletics, phygital bmx, Just Dance and Beat Saber.

I had thought of something along those lines too, but wasn't sure how to word it. Plus with these games, Russia could make "offer you can't refuse" to
the exceptional ones.
