Every two years is an election year for Senate and the House. 400ish house seats and 30ish Senates seats were voted on in 2022.

If you include any election then every year is an election year.

Kind of negates the posters claim that it was only done as an election year.

LOL, it solidifies it, even your admission does that.

It solidifies nothing besides the poster used something that can be used in any event.
This happened often.
Means nothing

bless your heart.

What that he only introduced sanctions because its an election year.

However every year is an election year.

Can you see the possible issue with that hypothesis?

did he introduce the sanctions in an election year as stated? that was the comment. it's either true or it's not. You already seemed to agree that it was an election year. It's either black or white, there is no grey.

Actually his comment was this.

Biden's handlers probably wouldn't have placed any sanctions if it wasn't an election year.

So no it isn't black and white.

What is black and white is that sanctions were also added in 22 and 23.

This, combined with our continued involvement with the Israel/Gaza mess is just going to push more countries to join BRICS.

Ummm...this is the only post in this thread that actually means anything...

Effing morons in charge of all western countries...

On top of that...with the west scheming how to steal 280 billion of Russia's reserves will only hasten other countries joining BRICS...

The IMF just stated that there would be serious and severe consequences to global financial systems if the west does illegally steal Russia's assets...

To be clear they didn't say using the assets is stealing.

They said whatever they do should have sufficient legal backing.

Which countries?

By the way, Russia's illegal invasion based allegedly on stopping NATO expansion......has resulted in even more NATO on it's borders.

What a genius move, eh?

Many of those targeted are corrupt folk who have stolen an awful lot of money from Russia's coffers.

Nice people.

What do you mean by "illegally"?

Still wanting citations and non MSM sources to show Russia is targeting civilians or have you shut up about that?

Thank you for agreeing.
It does come off as using a weak matter as a counter when that same logic can be applied to everything.
Cop-out if you will.

I'll try it like this, when the sanctions were enacted, was it an election year?

the answer will be a yes, or a no. If it's yes, then that comment was technically correct. Your argument at that point is with the English language.

That should clear all this up.

Can anyone explain why the West has only done token sanctions carefully designed to avoid hurting Putin or tanking Russia's economy?

The only reason I can think of is the Western leaders have done some kind of deal with Putin. They have to look like they're getting tough on Russia, even though they're clearly not.

1. All these sanctions not doing #, clearly by design
2. The West slowly dribbling weapons to Ukraine at a pace so slow that it guarantees Ukraine can't drive the Russians out

Both of those things make a lot more sense if the West did some kind of deal with him.

Have sanctions stopped Iran, or Venezuela, or North Korea, or China, or any other nation from pursuing their objectives? No, and they won't stop Russia either. Whenever the US demands any nation, even their allies, such as Hungary submit to US authority, they sanction.

German Council On Forign Relations

Upping the Stakes: US Sanctions Force Hungary to Shift Policy on Russia’s International Investment Bank

It doesn't matter if that nation is friend or foe. Hungary is a member of NATO, a supposed ally, and the US has sanctioned them. The world is going to get tired of the US bullying them and they will eventually abandon the US dollar and join the BRICS system. The US is destroying its dollar dominance through sanctions on any and every nation but can't see the eventual damage they are doing to our economy. Stupid politicians!

"Slowly dribbling"?

You folk are rabidly complaing about the billions sent.

The US wants to approve even more.

Guess who is behind blocking that?

Do you think DJT has done a deal?

Oops.

Your logic is flawed?

The comment was saying that the sanctions probably wouldn't be placed if it wasn't an election year. I quoted the post.

Not that they were added in an election year.

The lanuage is quite clear. Not sure why you are trying to change what was said.

Sanctions were also added in 22, 23 and 24.

That doesn't mean he didn't add new sanctions as its an election year, although I doubt its much of a vote winner.

It does mean the evidence doesn't support the opinion.

You might want to try an adult response yourself?

Just pointed out the logical flaws in your post.

"Slowly dribbling", etc. Not true.

As of right now and for the foreseeable future the dollar will remain dominant.
Brics is held together by a thread and will easily fracture.
It's like staying on the couch with a friend.

You didn't point out anything. You disagreed, without providing any support for why, and then whined about Trump.

I'll give you one more shot and then I just ignore you like a mom ignoring a kid screaming "watch me" over and over. I'm treating kids like kids today.

OK.

Let's try again.

You said:

"The West slowly dribbling weapons to Ukraine at a pace so slow that it guarantees Ukraine can't drive the Russians out

Both of those things make a lot more sense if the West did some kind of deal with him."

1. The West has sent billions in support.
That is not dribbling aid.

2. The US under Biden wants to send even more. This being blocked and opposed by, who?

Do try to be adult. You are the one that's screaming.
