I had heard AI now was creating images (apparently video as well [Sora]).

www.craiyon.com...

Free image generation. The possibility for memes seems endless ... for example, the Biden Admin's latest assistance to Ukraine:

😆

Cheers

NOTICE: AboveTopSecret.com management is now enforcing new standards for the opening posts of threads.

Opening posts that contain minimal content, links with little or no explanation, YouTube videos with no commentary, images with little or no commentary, and similar nominal content may be removed without warning or explanation. If your topic is important to you, make sure you explain why, with links and supporting material so that our members may offer more relevant contributions, and ultimately, better threads. In fact, if you have less to say than this simple notice, then you probably do not have enough to start a new thread. Thank you for your assistance in helping to create great threads on ATS.

One thing I like about that site is that it does not appear to be politically biased. It will apparently do satire images of any public figure.

The videos ive seen from Sora are impressive. Last ive seen was a very realistic dog hacker typing a way at a computer. And this is only the beginning of video creation. It's getting better at a fast rate.

Id assume that Sora, once publicly available, will charge a heafty subscription price considering the amount of usage a video takes.

Sora not quite available yet

It is what it is. Economic advancements for those that can utilize it, take advantage of it with no regard for how it will effect humanities future other than the immediate wealth it will generate for them is the driver. Political concerns will fall in behind.

Raise just one generation with it, playing with making faces and images and fooling around with it and it will, and maybe already is common place and eventually, sooner or later, no one will even question it any longer. Those of us who do have these concerns will die out and the future will be none the wiser.

realism in its purest form, that is if we don't fix our economic system ASAP...

Yep, and therein lays the rub. Is this something that can be taken care of just by eliminating corruption? I think not though certainly it could help. To me it might only be accomplished by a fuller grasp of the arguments Smith used in our current systems defense that the general welfare needed to be a prominent consideration in it's practice. That is, capitalism needed to be strongly oriented towards that general welfare and guarded as such in the face of the always looming potential of the accumulation of wealth it also promised to those who would seek to manipulate the system for their own personal gain.

You know getting rid of interests and away from the myth of exponential growth could help alot in mitigating certain unwanted dynamics.
it's not the worst system, and has many beneficial dynamics, it's actually quite good but it needs sanctions against those unwanted dynamics or they'll rather sooner than later destroy our society and the landscape from within...
