This was mentioned a while back, the issue of squatters taking over people's houses in Spain. The problem has not improved. Indeed, former squatters now occupy political office and run interference to protect squatters from legal consequences for their actions.

So how do people like squatters become politicians? Because those who do were never from a disadvantaged background in the first place: rich, leftist "children" of the age to attend university, claim to be "fighting the banks" by invading the property of others.

They are helped by mafias that move them in and then demand extortion money from owners to get the squatters out.

By Spanish law, if a squatter is in one's property for 48 hours, they can only be removed from the property by legal action that can take years to complete -- and during that time -- the owner still has to pay the utility bills!

Property law doesn't get crazier than this. Read more.

Cheers

Those laws are BS. If someone is on your property/living in an empty house you own, you should not have to go through the courts.

Last Fall some squatters tried that here. A farmer had a small house way out in the country and someone decided to move in without him knowing about it. He found out and went to tell them to leave and they said no and started giving him that "squatter's rights" crap. He just went and got his 3 sons, kicked in the front door and threw them and all their stuff out on the front yard.

That's the way all of them should be treated.

Leftist dreams of dethroning the upper middle-class in any country will start to zero in on "squatting" as a plum target to attract the poor. The term exactly screams "equality, equity and social justice" in their language.

They learned from the best, rich right-wing kids paving the way showing how to manipulate politics to their own advantage.... Comes around goes around...

Empty houses with homelessness is not a system that can be defended either, unless you want to put profit before human dignity.
wich is a slipery slope we are sliding down for a long time now and it's starting to chip away on the western dignity.
But then again those complaining about how they milk us with taxes and raising gas prices can go pound sand too. Eat up and shut up...

If you have nothing to loose you'd be a fool to sleep on the street next to an empty house...

They were obviously amateurs...

Here's the 10 step Programm for a successful squat

1. Check the object thoroughly during at least 1 month.
If there is no activity you can proceed
2. Check the entry points and tools you need to gain access
3. Assemble a team of at least 3 people and clear roles, rehears the whole scenario until everyone knows his tasks.
4. Make sure you can get everything you need for the next 3 days in during D-day, water, food, sleeping bags, tools, mobile phones and chargers.
6. Have a person on the outside to provide for unforseen circumstances.
5. Bring material to bar all accesses once you're inside, windows, garage, doors.
6. Fix a D Day
7. Announce your occupation with a clear sign on the object your in, inform the police if you are harassed by the owners.
8. Don't leave the house during the first 3 days, never leave it unattended as long as the situation isn't clear. It normally clears itself within the week, you'll either be evicted or you'll stay until further notice.
9. Never open the door to anyone that isn't part of the team, only communicate trough windows and keep your face hidden.
10. Enjoy the spoils

That is what is going on in Spain IMO. The socialist government has a cadre of hard core Leftists, and this is a way of attacking the middle class. Especially when it is the children of the wealthy Left who get up to this behavior.

The other element is that the government's ignoring of the problem has encouraged organized criminal gangs to enable squatting because the extortion money is easy money.

Those squatters are lucky that is all that happened to them there. I fear we'll see a lot more of this behavior before people (painfully) learn to respect the property of others.

It's going to be specially funny when the governments claim their property back from the appointed landlords...

I'm sure they'll be the first to respect that.

When will people learn that it's not going to go well for them when you start privatizing basic needs...

But we're on that path now, so please stop being such hypocrites when it comes to privatizing and taxing water and the air you breath, well just the one you breath out for now. It's just a logical progression of privatizing land.

Eat up

I hope to catch you squatting one day, so I can shove those rules up your arse when I throw you out on it. personally if I knew the squatter was there anonimously and others were unaware, I am sure they would just simply disappear one day without anyone being the wiser. Why and where they disappeared to is irrelevant, as long as they are not squatting anymore ...

Yeah everyone prefers murderous psychopaths over squatters,.
just don't complain when you suddenly end up on the list of one more influential than you...

My way or the high way. You know who follows the same set of rules?

Better make sure you get a seat at the WEF... Oh well, I guess it's too late for that. The world has vecome too small and the mentality is coming home to roost...

You soon will own nothing and be happy too....or be disappeared.

So you advocate for breaking the law as long as you can justify it in your mind; noted.

Those time have passed but knowledge is knowledge...

I've squatted many houses and the only one that's still occupied happend under my instructions 10 years ago, it's a cute house in the middle of zurich, with garden and garage and the owner loves us. We fixed the whole damn thing, and are keeping it in shape, we pay gas, water and electricity, and a symbolic rent of 1 swiss francs, so we can have residency by showing a contract.

The prune tree gives about 10 jars of jam of which the house owner takes two...

I guess you're just one of those home owners...

That wouldn't work around here. The cops will stand and watch as they throw their ass out.

This is the wrong place to FAFO.

Oh I advocate to break the law at every possible turn just don't get caught...

I never break the law, i might bend it so you'll break it when staying on course or you just comply to the new set of rules...

Yeah the rural retards are not to be #ed with, you have better chances of finding a solution with apes...

And the cops watched many homeowners trying to break into their own houses around here too. So what?
If they managed, it just means you failed to bar the entrances properly.

An escape plan is also worth a thought...

Private property is private property. If your name is not on the deed or bank loan, GTFO and very few will come to your aid. I don't know what your going on about murderous psychopaths. All I said is they may suddenly disappear and no one would likely even know, and I will add, likely not care either.

its a bold criminal game you play being a squatter. perhaps one should have considered better choices in life. People in dire straights tend to blame the whole world, society, the system and anyone or anything else besides their own poor choices which led to the path they now travel.

It's your game I'm playing... I'm about to privatize air, and your happiness is next.

What you own will end up owning you.

We are not the majority, people in dire straits are. That you think otherwise just goes to show how little of the world and their dire straits you've seen.

Well protected rich right wing kids are very quick to deny their responsabilities as citizens of this world, thats why they perfect henchmen for the elites...

Well I am one of those "rural retards", but you are right about one thing....we are not to be fu**ed with.

You do have an interesting mind set. I have no clue what makes you believe you have some "basic human right" to steal from others.
If you buy a car, is it ok for someone to come and take it ? Don't call the police, report it stolen ? Just meh, "I'll go get another one" ?

A car is hardly a basic need...

Privatizing basic needs, is what paved the way for what's coming home to bite us all in our ass...

Food, Water, and land is alredy a done deal... Air is coming in hard... And the latest push indicates that social credits will be a private system too...

Happy times ahead...

So, if my wife and I take a trip and my house is empty for the weekend, is it ok to just move in and say "It's mine now" ?
