Absolutely Ricky, I’ve always suspected Ukraine will return to her Soviet roots with the west’s loot in tow.

"Anyone who even supported this in passing has the blood of thousands on their hands."

That would be Putin.

I can't blame Putin for wanting to "demilitarize" Ukraine. Ukraine was doing to heinous stuff in eastern Ukraine to ethnic Russians who live in south and eastern Ukraine. I saw videos on youtube that have since been taken offline of Ukraine bombing ethnic Russians in Ukraine.

If Russia sent their military forces to Texas with the goal of getting Texas to declare itself independent from the United States, how should the US react to what is essentially an act of war by Russia interfering with an internal affair of the US?

What business does Russia have sending their military to Texas to interfere with internal matters of the US? None, just like Russia had no business sending their military to Eastern Ukraine in 2014 to interfere with the internal affairs of Ukraine, that was also an act of war. What do you expect during war?

State Duma passes law giving Wagner mercenaries ‘combat veteran’ status

Members of the armed formations associated with the self-proclaimed Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics since May 11, 2014 will also become eligible for combat veteran status.

Eastern Ukraine and Texas both have ethnic Russians but that still doesn't give Russia the right to interfere in the affairs of other countries. That's the same excuse Hitler used, he claimed he had to invade other countries because he was worried about his ethnic people.

Anyway, Russia hasn't demilitarized Ukraine. The net effect of Russia's invasion has acually demilitarized Russia more than Ukraine, while Ukraine's military strength has increased. By December 12, Russia had already lost about two-thirds of its pre-invasion tanks, and 87% of its soldiers.

www.cnn.com...

Russia has lost a staggering 87 percent of the total number of active-duty ground troops it had prior to launching its invasion of Ukraine and two-thirds of its pre-invasion tanks, a source familiar with a declassified US intelligence assessment provided to Congress told CNN.

Some of those tanks they lost to Ukraine when Russians abandoned them fleeing their positions during a Ukraine counter-attack in 2022. So Ukraine gained those plus lots of tanks their allies sent them.

What’s the ethnic Russian population difference between Texas and Ukraine?

What’s the distance between Texas and Eastern Ukraine?

Also bringing Hildawg “what difference does it make” along in the discussion?

What? If Mexican troops invaded Texas, that would be ok because Mexico is closer, and there are a lot of Mexicans in Texas?

I don't think so.

It was a bad comparison and you know it.

The difference in distance between Texas and eastern Ukraine is vast obviously.

How would Texas feel, if Mexico let Russia join an alliance where Russia started bringing nukes in?

Last time it happened in Cuba, we didn’t like it.

Ukraine wasn't joining NATO and there were no nukes.

The last time in Cuba it happened because we put missiles in Turkey right on the Russian border first.

Interesting I had no idea there was a provocation by the West prior to the Cuban missile crisis.

The US deployed SM-28 Jupiter medium range missiles to Italy and Turkey in the late 1950s. They were declared operational just before the Cuban Missile Crisis. There was a secret agreement to end the Cuban Missile Crisis that the US would remove them within five months, which they did.
