You have excellent insight into the sad state of society and government on their white horses rescuing us all.

Thank you.

The politicians in Florida, who obviously are better parents than children's own parents, should have also included requirements in this bill that children read more books. Just not those naughty banned books like The Diary of Anne Frank, those kinds of books could damage young minds just as much as the Instygramaphone thing.

You must send that in a letter to DeSantis as book banning may be next in the pipeline.

Social media is negatively effecting a lot of the youth around here. We need real social interaction, not social media. Kids need to go to the beach and do stuff without having a phone stuck to their head or ear buds in their ears looking like they are talking to themselves. The crazies are being hidden by the new social norm these days, people knew those people talking to themselves years ago needed to be avoided.

I would be all right if social media was banned here till kids got out of highschool. I personally know a few parents locally who had their kids commit suicide or attempt it because of social media. I see people inappropriately bitching about people on our local social media because those people are doing something that person feels is bad, yet what that person is doing they are bitching about online is not bad, it is normal around here....the person bitching is the one that is nuts or entitles most times.

In Florida you can request a book be removed from the library if it upsets your fee-fees. This is good thing because books are filled with all kinds of inappropriate and deviant things, and parents should not have the ability to let their kids read books that upset other parents and politicians. This is how small government should work.

It's the new way, but only in Florida. Coming your way soon, big brother.

I'm hoping politicians in Florida pass more laws that usurp parental authority, parents are mostly stupid and politicians are mostly not.

They have not passed a law yet about not sticking my hand into a food processor!

HA!

FREEDOM!

The book is perfectly titled “Anne Frank’s Diary: The Graphic Adaptation”

The reason is was scrutinized is because it features two “sexually explicit” scenes.
In the first, Frank walks along a series of nude statues, and in another, she asks a friend if they want to show each other their breasts.
Now what does any of that have to do with young children? It that really necessary to sex up a story about Anne Frank. Ok groomer.
We can all agree that is not appropriate in a school.
A great example of Florida protecting its kids.
Parents don’t have the right to screw up their kids.
That social media bill only hurts the social media companies who target kids.
The companies who don’t aren’t effected by the bill.

Thank the Baby Jesus and all the Holy Saints we have outraged politicians who agree that the government needs to help raise people's children. We need more morality legislation, not less.

Absolutely, an uneducated population is the best kind to rule over.

You know the best part? No one, and I mean no one, ever gets interested in doing something that's banned or taboo. That's why Prohibition worked so well.

Mine is parents better educate their children about being safe online. Schools could as well. Block the creeps and groomers. Problem solved. I had my childhood and teenage years in the 00s and early 10s, everyone could manage it when I was at school, I don't see why they can't now.

I am against further government restrictions because parents refuse to pay any attention to what their kids are doing or who they are talking to.

From their drivers license. If this becomes law they will then make you prove your identity. This is probably linked to voter identification.

Actually, it sounds like a great way to sneak in the 'Internet license' that requires everyone to have a digital ID in order to get online, and everything they do is then tied to that digital ID. No more anonymity, no more privacy...

Was ignored the first time, so lets try this one again shall we

Wrong again, "the people" do not rule something unconstitutional. They can say it is, but ultimately it is up to the high courts to rule something as unconstitutional.

But since you think you rule on this kind of stuff, what is unconstitutional about it?

I'm not going down this road with you, been there done that, no thanks and I used the word 'deem' not 'rule'. More of the same with you.

Let's just wait until the parents rise up then you will have your answers.

Excellent point. Laws are the problem, not idiots.

Yeah yeah yeah start backtracking when people call you out, get over yourself bud

People can "deem" something unconstitutional all they want, but as I said before, ultimately its up to the high courts to decide. Either way, not unconstitutional in any way, but if you feel so feel free to explain it for us all.

You still refuse to answer a simple question, what a surprise. You'd think you would eventually learn the etiquette for being here but I guess not.

The only ones rising up is a group called Netchoice.
They are Meta, TikTok X etc.
Makes sense that they would be against this bill since it effectively would keep them from tracking and manipulating kids for money.
At the same time this bill gives parents legal recourse against those same malicious social media companies.
That will not be good for that groomer business model.
Netchoice is the same group currently fighting a Texas bill which is standing up for everyone’s 1A rights.
Netchoice wants ultimate authority to be able to censor people based on their particular views.

It's not the "liberty" I had hoped Republicans would come with. Not the "freedom" I hoped the social reclamation would bring.

Florida opposes California by turning kids into wards of the state?

And the reasons are just so silly. Woke people! You can dress it up any way you want, but Florida is committed to not letting California-style values reprogram their children. And going overboard now.

I hope this isn't a sign of the 2025-2029 Republicans are envisioning, because it is "trending" this direction:

I think Fascism really may be the default.
