This is in Political Madness, because it's politicians who got us into the situation. You can thank the DNC, because they ALWAYS cut the military budget, every single time.

Priorities of a "transparent" demoncrap regime....

An NSC spokesperson took issue with the study saying the US 'has the most powerful military in the world'
By Michael Lee Fox News

US military to enter 2024 with smallest active-duty force in more than 80 years

Fox News congressional correspondent Aishah Hasnie has more as the military struggles with enlistments entering the new year on "Special Report."

For the second consecutive year, a study has ranked the US Military as "weak" and warned, that a lack of action could leave the armed forces incapable of defending vital American interests.

Democrats don't care either, they want a weak USofA

The last time democrats were in the WH, Military training equipment like jets, were falling apart and needed scavenged parts from other aircraft. Now they set us up to be weak on world stage.

Is that really your interest, weakening the Armed Forces?!

Last time I checked we were dogwalking our greatest military rival without even putting boots on the ground.

The problem isn't that the military is too small, it's still way way too big.

It needs to be cut in half, and then half again.

The problem is the leadership. We continue to keep and promote Generals that haven't won a war in 80 years.

The culture of political yes-men whose only goal is to get promoted is the problem.

I'd fire everyone above the rank of Captain right off the bat, and then do a very thorough review of anyone you want to bring back.

No we don't, during the obuma regime, he fired over 200 flag rank Officers!

The military was already cut in half, by Dems under the Clinton regime.

How old are you, by the way?

I only ask, because you speak with a naive ignorance.

I agree the problem is leadership, or lack there of in the political arena. Politicians need to stay the F out of military affairs. Military is only called in when political action fails.

At that point, they already tried and messed up.

Today the armed Forces are a woke friendly incompetent democrat puppet. Same as every thing politicians get hands on.

Corrupt career parasite politicians, are the problem, not the solution.

Look at what works, compared to what has not.

The best defense is a better offense.

We should agree to disagree.

Retention and recruitment is so bad that the army looks the other way when someone pops hot for weed. They just loose a rank….maybe. This boosts moral from the peers…not.

And the Bubba system, it’s been around too long. Just like everything else, it’s who you know to get that job and promotion. The ones that aren’t in it quickly realize they need to get out, and that’s the majority.

You can also thank the Republican party, because they're the ones that cut the taxes you need to pay for a military in the first place! Remember that the next time you heart some idiot calling for a small government!

A study released at exactly the same time a high ranking UK officer said exactly the same thing about its military. Its just coincidence of course.

Are we quite confident military spending is actually going toward our troops, or is it manufacturing hardware for resale to the bad guys so we can justify manufacturing more hardware?

Our greatest military rival is busy building a navy and actually fielding a fleet of 5th gen stealth fighters. Russia is not where near force projection nor are they trying to build that capability...china on the other hand is not only doing all that but they seem to be stepping up the spy games too. Remind me what pary keeps having problems with chinese spy's being caught on their orbit...

Weak today?
No
Weak in the future?
Probably

It will take time for diversity hires and lowered standards to completely weaken the military. When a man with three combat tours gets passed over for leadership promotions so a person that ticks certain boxes can move up, we will inevitably suffer.
The military also lowered standards so some women could be on the special forces. Bad idea.

And yes.. this is actually happening today.
Experienced soldiers are leaving the military for the exact reason I stated above.

Well, you're right that the Republican Party didn't reduce military spending as a response to their 2017 tax cuts, if that's what you mean.

The defense budget went up every year after the 2017 Republican tax cut between about 3% and 7.5%, depending on the year--keeping pace with inflation or maybe staying ahead a little bit. And most defense spending bills usually receive broad bipartisan support because the spending is spread widely over many Congressional districts. However, the 2017 tax cut decreased government revenue by a measurable amount, so the increased military spending was just added to the deficit.

Listen... I'm not active or retired military, so I don't know about what it's like inside the belly of the beast; only what I have heard from family members that are retired Army and Marines.

I do however, deal with legal/political mumbo jumbo and finances in my line of work. That being said, I don't think the US cutting/reducing the military budget is what is making us weak...

Military Spending by Country

If I had to guess, it's bureaucratic BS, wasteful "administrative costs" and bloated contracts (which go to other black projects and line insider's pockets as per usual), and supplying other countries that is reducing our own strength over here.

That, and the political/activism part of my brain tells me that more and more people are avoiding the military pawn game and lowering recruitment numbers.

..... Which can be baked up by recent hot mic statements allegedly caught by the one and only Biden.

An armed populace who are trained to use the weapons they are required by law to keep in working order and in their homes mandated to be used in the defence of family, home and country.

Those people aren’t going to invade the Middle East for sh!tz and kickbacks, they will travel interstate to defend their country however and probably gladly do so.

330 million defenders of America.

Watch the politicians walk on eggshells until they learn how to respect the citizens who employ them.

My apologies, I failed to post my Q 😂

Would you imagine the budget would look very different to how it does now?

You are for MORE military spending?

What about the fentinal, housing, and financial crisis plaguing this country?

Do those not pose a far greater risk to our way of life than some dictator in a country most Americans couldn't point out on a map of the world?

You statists clearly don't understand that the American military industrial complex is the cause of most of the conflict and destruction around the globe. You somehow think bombing people is the answer to everything. Are you related to Lindsay Graham?

The American military doesn't protect this country the second amendment does. The sooner you "see something say something" stooges realize you are you are working for the bad guys the sooner we can effect some meaningful changes to our lives. It's not Russia, China, or Iran destroying the quality of your life. It's the American government and MIC people like you continually worship.

I'm curious.
Do you know why we currently occupy 1/3 of Syria?

I am genuinely curious how ATS became such a hotbed of statists who worship
the Military Industrial Complex like democrats worship woke culture.

Are you all bought and payed for by weapons manufacturers and AIPIC?

Again in genuinely curious how ATS got this way...

So much for denying ignorance...

The USAF at least never met the goals for sequestration for the upper ranks of officers, they met it for the E's in about 6 weeks.

We have way to many chiefs not near enough indians.
