Then turn your mind on and prove me wrong?

I get my news from a wide range of sources. CNN? Only rarely.

You can learn about the role of our Monarch here:

www.royal.uk...

"Monarchy is the oldest form of government in the United Kingdom.

In a monarchy, a king or queen is Head of State. The British Monarchy is known as a constitutional monarchy. This means that, while The Sovereign is Head of State, the ability to make and pass legislation resides with an elected Parliament."

Fine. When, after Putin, the White Tsar will come to power in Russia, I ask you not to say that again the dictatorship and totalitarianism. Otherwise, I accuse you of primitive and stupid double standards.

Putin is a dictator and runs a totalitarian autocratic state.

So where is any comparison with Constitutional Monarchies like we have here and in Denmark?

"White Tsar"?

Doesn't sound very democratic?

But happy for y’all all the same! Seems like a good guy.

I know behind the scenes they're all filthy rotten people. But I always did like Margarethe and her crazy style and frugality. Her cousin, our late King (of the Hellenes), I always liked as well. At least our church and state stayed together I guess...

Monarchy is such an outdated, medieval institution that no longer serves any purpose in modern life

Monarchy and democracy are incompatible things. I am wrong?

You’d think right?

Yet here we are… Denmark being one of the freest countries in the world, with one of the highest standards of living on earth.

Then Russia, where the president always wins the election by over 90%, you can go to jail for simply criticizing the government and millions of people live in 3rd world poverty conditions.

Just makes ya think is all.

Only if you don't understand what a Constitutional Monarchy actually is. Ever heard of the English Civil War?

Guess you missed the massive national outpouring of grief and sentiment that followed our late Queen's passing, too.

Perhaps you'd have preferred President Blair?!!!!!!

How are his political opponents doing?

Indeed!

Is this really democracy???

I for once find it difficult to comprehend how monarchy and democracy go together. They are incompatible.

No you are right.

But in this case monarchy is a thing of the past having little or no influence on politics and decisions made.

I agree and countries like England and Denmark should abolish it.
