Gigantopithecus is not a recent discovery.

Researchers recently found more evidence of when they went extinct and reinforced the theory that their extinction was caused by environmental changes to the forests gigantopithecus relied on for food.

This thread should be in Science & Technology because I don't think there is any evidence of an ancient or lost civilization of Gigantopithecus.

What exactly do they do, that leaves evidence? Tracks? we don't take tracks seriously. Feces? How can you tell their pile of dung from a bear, elk, dear? Since we don't know what their dung would look like, if they exist. You don't know what you're looking for, in the middle of a forest, that anyone without training and the proper equipment would probably get lost and die in. Carcasses? They could bury their dead, even if they don't. You would be surprised how fast a carcass will disappear.

A knowledgeable person can tell those animal signs apart by their poo. It’s due to the animals size, biology, and diet.

Poo and tracks complement each other and should lead to where they hunt, bed, breed.

As far as the dead? Other animals don’t bury their dead but have their bodies reclaimed by nature. We still find bones and such.

And their still should be one off hit by a car, killed in a flood, forest fire, killed in a tornado, shot by a hunter. And so on.

Bury their dead? So there should be signs of excavations and tools? And graveyards?

You're assuming you know something about bigfoot, if it exist. Like it lives in a community. But about this tracks leading some where. Have you ever done much hunting? You might find some tracks around a creek or a pond. But the idea you're going to follow those tracks through the forest and catch the animal that made them. Is strictly from the movies.

Which ignores and has nothing to do with everyone from scientists to hunters have been trying to capture bigfeets. Trying to learn as in find proof of their existence. And still looking, and still not finding. While bob cats in my area are found hit by cars. People can hit little bob cats by accident, but experienced big game hunters can’t find bigfeets? The equivalent of an NFL team living in the forest?
