It baffles me that idiots still think people will fall for the "Trump will be a tyrant", given he was already an effective president.

I am not as worried about Trump as I am worried about how some people see Trump, and what they're willing to tolerate and accept

There's precedent for her remarks. History has given us many clues about what we should be paying attention to

The liberals might be irrational right now - bordering on hysterical. The fear is genuine

WHY would my feelings be hurt? I already said that I'm not a Republican nor a Trump fan and that I go Libertarian. WHoopie Goldberg is a good actor, but she sucks when it comes to politics. Her rhetoric is NOT helpful. People in this country need a strong dose of reality when it comes to the politicians ... and making up crap about Trump 'disappearing' gays and the press isn't reality and it's just adding to the problem.

Like I said - less than courageous. Talking about the left absolutely includes a conversation about the right - this isn't a genuine issue. Neither one of us is new here. You're not fooling anyone

I'm going to be on a little hiatus after this morning. There are very few voices left here at ATS that have any interest in arguing anymore. It's a little sad, but this is how things go now - the echo chamber is all yours

Yeah, I used to actually like her when I didn't know anything about her other than through her roles in Star Trek TNG (as Guynan), or in the moves Jumping Jack Flash or Ghost...

She's just like anyone else with a platform - they all have their own opinions and Whoopi seems to have the need to express her opinions a lot.

it's interesting. I see it as the inverse of what you describe. I feel like the left has gone bat sh!t crazy and they abandoned all sense of reality. Trump is just a guy, I don't see him as an existential threat to democracy or the world. I just think he's who we need to break through the clown world dimension.

I think Republicans are weak and ineffective, spineless and likely just as compromised as the left, but with one very important aspect, the left is openly displaying their arrogance.

If you revisit the first 4 years of Trump, there were lies after lies, from the left, from the IC, Remember Russia collusion?
See I understand that he can only serve 4 more years and will only be alive another 20 at best. So I seem to have some magical ability to look forward and see that we need to change direction now, and Trump will not be a part of the future, but his policies might be, and that is what I liked about his presidency. Strong borders as opposed to Open Borders. That's what we have now, open borders. A strong military. We have a weak military now, and it's a really, really dangerous time to have a weak military. Those two things are monumentally more important than just about anything else, for the sake of the future. And folks can't look past the next 3 minutes.

We can't continue on the road we are on. It's well past time for some change. And if you don't see the lunacy, you must be part of it. Or perhaps it's me, I'm the crazy one, and I should find a way to adjust my thinking that a dude can have babies, Border security is for pussies, appeasing the enemy is a great way forward, and liberal progressives are on the right track. Green new deal stuff. Eliminate all power but green and hope like hell it doesn't get very cold. (since EV's don't do well in the cold and green energy also isn't great in cold weather. But again, it must be me. I'm the crazy one.

And I read several sites on the same subject to get a clearer picture.

I don't make the lists of best and worst president. Historians and academics do.

I am curious as to what this is for. If I state that I will accept something that has yet to happen, does that make you feel better? Do you win some prize?

I hope and pray for free and fair elections. I think it's what our nation needs. But that's not what we have now. Between gerrymandering by both sides, people actually contesting voter identification securities, and all the money that gets thrown around during elections, free and fair is such a distant pipe dream I can't even smell the smoke.

If clown world is the legacy you wish to leave the next generation, don't change a thing.
