That's not how the physics of a surgical mask or N95 mask works. The non woven fibers in the mask made of melt-blown polyurethane are spaced close enough to each other to act as a strainer for larger particles such as saliva droplets from speaking and coughing, etc., but virus particles are indeed smaller than the spacing between the fibers as the Doctor on TV said.

That's why those polyurethane fibers are manufactured with a built in electric charge on their surface. The electric field surrounding the fibers attracts the virus particles onto the fiber surface, traps them there with Van Der Walls forces, and actually deactivates them by slowly pulling the virus apart. Those fibers don't operate on viruses like a strainer, they operate basically as an electrostatic precipitator. I find it surprising that the Doctor didn't know this.

Polyurethane doesn't have a "built in" electric charge. It's an insulator.

They are barriers, that's all. Better than nothing when you're surgeon is starting into your open heart during surgery.

That's why plain cloths sold as "protection" back in COVID. Barrier. Just barrier...

PS this week, casinos n hospitals all seeming masked up. At least 50%...

Liberal medical professionals keep telling me that the virus can 'ride' on saliva droplets and is the reason for masking up. It's also why we had almost no flu viruses in 2020 and 2021. 🙄

That's much different. People always have all kind of bacteria in their mouth, and that's why surgeons wear the surgical masks , to stop Bacteria, NOT virii.
A surgeon doing an open heart surgery, or any surgery shouldn't be on duty if they have the flu or some other viral illness. Most of my family are doctors and surgeons. Bacterial infections from a poor surgical environment can and will be deadly. Staph and Strep especially, but communicable viruses common to here in the USA aren't going to kill you for certain. Bacteria will.

The masks would never work because they weren't put on in sterile environments nor were they kept in sterile environments. They weren't put on with sterile washed and gloved hands over sterile covered head and hair. It's ridiculous to think they worked at all.

If you put on sterile gloves and touch unsterile clothing, hair, door knobs, counters, products etc., they are no longer sterile. Whatever germs that were touched WITH gloves on would be spread the same way as with bare hands.

The whole idea was ridiculous. Masks that were stuffed in pockets, worn time and time again in different locales and situations, touched on the inside and outside with germy hands that touched germy counters, germy desks, germy steering wheels, germy beds, germy walls and germy people etc. I could only laugh when they insisted that people wear these 'virus' blockers that were covered with.......little germy virus bodies. It is actually beyond ridiculous.

The reason there was no flu was because there was flu. But deaths from heart attacks to gunshot wounds were reported as Covid19, including the flu if one also tested positive for Covid19. Plus they weren't really testing for the flu so who knows who had it and who didn't.

They say in LA they are having to start masking up again.... heard on the news that whoping cough is now a thing again because people are behind inoculating their kid. Then we have flu cold rsv... that odd China thing that they say was just a bad cold and flu season.

Places masks make some sense if worn completely properly Nd the right one is worn would be in a pharmacy and in a hospital or you hVe some medicL condition. But! People and I mean probably 80 percent of the population have no clue how to use them properly!

Utopian control bs.

Masks are meant to catch droplets of salvia that contain viruses, and reduce the chance of infection, not stop it.

I'm not sure you're 100% correct on the mask issue!

Reason being, I wore a mask and for 2 and half years didn't catch any flu/covid and then when i disposed of it, I caught Covid/Flu, so for me it did work and I was travelling on the trains during Covid.... not daily or weekly but I was travelling back and forth.

Thought they Proved that Mask don't work a few years ago.
The virus is Micro and can get through Cloth Mask.

The only masks that were and are effective are the N95's. The homemade/woven/cloth masks are simply theater. Most people couldnt even manage to wear them properly anyway. Same with the 6ft apart, wiping down groceries stuff. Full disclosure, i did wear N95's whenever i went out in 20 and partway through 21 when i did get the vaccine, but i had already been wearing them due to work for a number of years so mask wearing didnt bother me.
