In a possible sense of the mood, almost 60% of Israelis, including 40% of Arab Israelis, cited destroying Hamas in any way possible as the most important goal of the war, according to the Tel Aviv University poll.
Around a third said bringing the hostages home was the main goal.

The notion that Hamas is the "elected govt" in Gaza is iffy at best. The last election was in 2005. Most of the current population there were children at the time..

As was stated in the OP , I also think a significant proportion are those who have had enough of Netanyahu and his government of convenience , let's not forget his government were deeply unpopular and facing collapse before October 7th.
