Do you think he should have accepted the invitation? I understand why he didn't but I would have accepted it if I was him.

What he should have done was say he would come, but would also bring 4 experts in their fields to help them determine what they got. If they said no, only you, then say no to going.

Who is Majestic08 that keeps getting banned?

Either this or going there himself and then asking the Mexican Government and its officials to invite more scientists and experts in their fields to examine the bodies.

Free bread and circus! Send in Snake in DeGrasse Tyson the clown!

Why is it that many of you are calling him a clown?

The National Security Agency has a long history of making assets (asshats) out of public figures and celebrity scientists to help "keep a lid" on the "alien subject". It doesn't matter what is hoaxed or what is real as long as they get the job done.

I'm betting Tyson folded for a very low price.

Just as I said earlier answering another post, the best way to cover up the truth is to blend it with lies and half-truths or exaggerations. This way people are much more likely to reject the entire subject altogether together with whatever truths are out there. It's a classical technique.

Personally, I couldn't care less what this clown has to say.

He thinks what he is told to think.

I have found his speech cadence to become annoying. At first, I thought it somewhat different, but the more I listened to him the more it bothered me, especially when he draws out his speech with pauses and slow pronunciation of words.

It's a no win situation for him so why bother. If he went down there and said they were real etc it would be pointed out he knows nothing about biology.

If he said it's fake people would say well he's not a biologist and knows nothing about it.

No matter what he does you get the same results. And he's at least smart enough to see that.

I recall a few months ago him saying he would love a chance to see it in person... now when given the chance he turns it down and says "nah other experts besides me should look at it". The guy is a mainstream clown so attached to his beliefs, I bet a part of him is afraid to see the bodies, but he will try to play it off like they're not even worth his time or he isn't the right person for the job.

I ve lost count on how many people have called him a clown!

I wasn't aware that he said he would love to see it in person but this is expectable for every scientist even if they think it's a fake. I would have accepted the invitation given it's an official one as he said. At this point I guess it's an invitation from some Government Department or University.

He doesn't want to associate himself with Maussan but he doesn't have to- he has an official invitation.

You made a good point.
But he could have handled it differently and accepted the invitation to go and see them. He isn't an expert in biology or genetics but having a look is different from coming up with some conclusions.

I know some of his views on other matters and I don't agree with him. However on this subject other scientists would have probably done the same and rejected the invitation.

Professor Briax Cox says the 'alien corpses' are too humanoid and difficult to believe aliens have similar shapes and body parts like humans have.

You asked why are people calling him a clown, and the answer is that he has opined on areas that are not his expertise and he goes off the deep end into crazy conjectures as if he is taking the "devil’s advocate" side just to debate, and he usually overpowers the other side with long-winded responses.

As to going, I agree..unless he can take other experts too.

Because he is an arrogant prick; and always has been; long before he went mainstream famous and could only be found on the various space related documentaries on the Discovery/Science cable networks.

Michio Kaku was always a much better presenter.

I don't think people understand that the reason life is at it is today is because we all come from common ancestors around 250 million years ago. In the far past, Trilobites had more than 2 eyes, but today the life that evolved after the End Permian (250 mya) which was the big one, and then 2 more after that still devastating up to 65 mya, life is very similar.

If we think about another planet with completely different environments and situations how could life be even remotely like us unless some ancient race seeded the planets?

This brings up the question that even if life is common it still doesn't bold well for advanced life much less spacefaring life. If we look at Earth which is as close to perfect as a planet can get to allow 100s of millions of years for evolution to work before resets we have a planet that gives life a chance to evolve into more complex forms. If life reset every 20 million years there wouldn't be much in the form of advanced life.

Looking at us humans, if the age of the universe in its current form of stable stars with planets and not just massive stars going supernova quickly in the creation of the elements is around 9 billion years old then Earth is haft that age. So, if we suggested life was forming maybe in the last 9 billion years, Earth produced just one that went to the moon, and we almost went extinct like the other humanoids. What this kind of shows is even in a perfect environment that type of life is unique.

Perhaps deep down he feels Mexico isn't safe. Could be that simple.

I have been to Mexico many, many, times, I have a time share there. I doubt that my wife and I will ever go back. On the question of NDT, as he said, he’s not a biologist, so why go and he is definitely no Rodney McKay although I believe he was on SG Atlantis one time.

Tyson says he's not a mummy expert, so he's not accepting the invitation to see the mummies.

You don't believe him? So you think he is a mummy expert and he is accepting the invitation to see the mummies?
