This is breaking news. Fifteen dead and dozens injured, the police have declared the shooter 'eliminated'.
Looks like another murderer with mental health issues.
Thoughts with the victims and deceased.
Link to AP news, plenty of others reporting

PRAGUE (AP) — An armed man opened fire in a university building in downtown Prague on Thursday, killing at least 15 people and sowing widespread panic with one of the Czech Republic’s worst mass shootings of its kind, police and the city’s rescue service said.

The bloodshed took place in the philosophy department building of Charles University, where the shooter was a student, Prague Police Chief Martin Vondrasek said. He has not been named publicly.

It's not clear whether he took his own life or the police took him out. There are some roumours that he had laid down his gun and the police took him out anyway. They also searched the building for explosives

Good. Skip the courts and send them straight to Hell where they belong.

I'd say that qualifies as something my kids used to say. "Oops, my bad".

I wonder if they will all blame the gun or perhaps they have enough sense to know the guy who shot them was the problem.

I agree if this is the case. However, this gunman has 'history'. He started the shooting by killing his own father first. Then there's some evidence that he was going to do this atrocity. Apparently there are winesses that say they saw him lay his gun down and raise his arms. What struck me was that the police checked a nearby building for explosives. Could it be they had intel that he might have been wired himself?
It's still breaking news so we shall have to wait and see.
Whichever way, at least he is dead.

Horrible news for the innocent who went to school that day thinking just another day.

I do believe when entering a gun free zone it is better for you to be armed or do not go there as most of these crimes happen to those who can not defend themselves.

Police arenow reporting they have fond many ammunitions stashed in the building.

Police said the gunman had a "huge arsenal of weapons and ammunition" and praised officers for acting quickly to prevent further deaths

commit an atrocity in certain parts of the world and you will not be taken alive, no matter what your actions are when the authorities arrive.

They released the shooter's name... he is David Kozák.

The Independant

Student David Kozák opened fire on the fourth floor of Charles University in Jan Palach Square shortly after 3pm, with chilling images appearing of the shooter dressed in black, taking aim from a balcony with a large gun.

Authorities have confirmed that the 24 year-old was a history student at the university and that he acted alone.

He is believed to have been inspired by a school shooting carried out by 14-year-old schoolgirl in Russia earlier this month, and wrote on Telegram: “I want to do a school shooting and possibly suicide

This one hit close to home. I have a dear friend who lines in Tel-Aviv. Her husband is a Marine at the embassy (USMC handles all US Embassy security around the world).

She and her four kids were all at home when he October 7th attacks occurred. They lost a number of friends and neighbors. Traumatic to say the least.

So she and her husband decided to take the kids on a trip to help them put October 7th in the rear view.

They went to Prague.

They were literally two streets over from where law enforcement established their command location for the active shooter response. They walked around a corner to a WALL of people fleeing the immediate area. Luckily (and sadly) the kids all knew exactly what to do.

The world is a silly place.

In such a situation, you feel the utmost injustice: a person committed atrocities, he did it consciously, but he did not dare to take responsibility (if it is true that the perpetrator committed suicide). History knows many cases when mass murders were committed, very brutal murders, and the perpetrators committed suicide, as if leaving the last word for themselves, as if wanting to prove that they were right

The problem exists with both, specifically the mentally ill/disturbed having access to guns, all the while red flags (laws) being ignored by the authorities and those close to the shooter not bothering to alert authorities as in the U.S.A. As for worldwide mass shooting problems, I'm sure they have some or all of the same issues. Specifically in Prague, their constitutional guns laws mirror the U.S.'s constitutional rights.

Updated news on the shooter.

Tell me nobody noticed anything wrong with the shooter leading up to this horrific act?
