In a world the left created; wherein all opposition can be shutdown by labelling every word they utter a "Dog Whilste"; do you really think making Zionism vs Jewish arguments are really going to work?

I'm not sure that anything will work in these times we live in

I'm also not convinced that you can reduce this down and then use it as another kind of dog whistle

Of course not, you're absolutely right.

Just last week three prominent US college presidents on world TV stated they would need further context as to why people were calling for the extermination of the Jewish people before they could make a determination if such calls were antisemitic.

The topic is clearly nuanced.

A star for making me laugh: nuanced

How many sides are there to this situation? Surely more than just two?

I live in a world that should allow for the possibility that everyone can be right and wrong at the same time. But it doesn't. What it does allow for is a way to rationalize for crimes against humanity

Heroes, gods and demons. This is what the audience demands

The funniest part of all this is that now - the people who are legitimately and sincerely speaking out on the behalf of the Palestinians are getting an unwanted and unasked for assist from Putin

Extra hilarious when you think about how much support he's been giving the intellectual cowards and moral retards here and out there for years now

Talking is meaningless now. Except - it must not be if people are still pulling those levers

I've noticed two distinct forms of antisemitism.

The first, deliberate malice toward a jewish person with explicit racial or political motivations.

Second, insinuating antisemitic guilt via false equivalency. If you don't immediately prove beyond all doubt, this very moment, that you endorse all things israel then you are probably a white supremacist.

I tend to think of the second as weaponization of antisemitism, if one can agree racism has capacity to be weaponized. But we've seen that kind of propaganda already from BLM. Prove you're not racist.

Author receives German prize in scaled-down format after comparing Gaza to Nazi-era ghettos

An organization in Germany recently was going to deny a Jewish writer a prestigious award (Hannah Arendt no less) because she wrote a humanitarian, pro-Palestinian essay

So, the thought police have painted themselves into a corner

It's still worth it to talk about it. Sometimes people see something they didn't see before

That's what I've been wondering.
I started looking into the Nakba early 2000s while working with a guy who played NPR on the radio. Lots of coverage about West Bank settlements. On 9/11 his comment was "Well I hope they think the settlements were worth it."

I guess that's called a Black Swan Event. A shock to the system to cause a bit of questioning of the accepted narrative.

Thank you.
I was sort of thinking that it might be my last thread.
But then I wrote a story for the writer's contest.
There was a time when people joined ATS for the contests.
*sigh*

You know the people of Palestine are Semites too and left out of your definition. Thats a third type of anti antisemitism you missed off there..

Look, you may not care about the attempted genocide of Jews. Not my issue. Many people don't care about Jews, many people want to end the Jewish race. And I get it, you are siding with palestinians who (I might add) want the elimination of all Jews and the Jewish State.

Genocide of the jews.. You mean the 'event' which it is illegal to question across large swathes of the free world..
Sounds like a religion to me..

How much do you know about Newton? 3rd law, equal and opposite reaction. It applies to much more than just motion.

Thing is if you know the history of Israel and Palestine that applies to Israel too , for decades they have killed and terrorised the Palestinian population while not only stealing their land and property but also turning Gaza into what the Church has called a prison or Concentration Camp , every action has an equal and opposite reaction.

When it's fashionable to support a terror group and call for the extermination of a nation, what's the opposite of that?

Thing is Hamas were created and funded by Netanyahu , Frankenstein's monster did what monsters do.

Instead of how I lost a Jewish friend in 2006 over comments I made about the Lebanon War, I will give a more recent anecdote.

So I was talking to a lady about current events in Israel-Hamas War in front of her 16 year old daughter.

The lady started looking worried, like "In front of a child?" type worried. She said to her daughter "He has advantages that we don't have."

I then expanded on that thought to the girl "Oh yeah, I don't have to worry about a boss reading comments on social media and firing me from a job. And I don't have to fit in to a classroom setting. So I can speak and write my opinions more freely than you or your mom can. Almost risk-free. Don't try to imitate me. I've got nothing to loose, whereas you do."

Without going into detail I have been studying this "biblical end times" in the Bible. And according to what I figured out is we're actually in the end times. There's supposed to be an Israel over there now. And it looks like it's supposed to be there for the next 1000 years as well.

Yeah, if you want to mix Revelation with 2nd Isaiah and then figure that: well since the Post-exile "2nd temple" didn't usher in the end of the age it must be future, like now.

A little something from Isaiah 60:

10“Foreigners will rebuild your walls,
and their kings will serve you.
Though in anger I struck you,
in favor I will show you compassion.
11Your gates will always stand open,
they will never be shut, day or night,
so that people may bring you the wealth of the nations—
their kings led in triumphal procession.
12For the nation or kingdom that will not serve you will perish;
it will be utterly ruined.

Sounds like very good news for Jerusalem. Not so much for the rest of the World. Our politicians serving Jerusalem, paraded through the streets as defeated subjects, our wealth flowing into Jerusalem as tribute to the imperial ruler of the World. Destruction to those who resist total subjection and servitude.

Not cool. Not cool at all.

Agreed; the argument that "you're are racist until we agree you've proven you're not a racist... and even then, you're still a little racist" has become the norm. BLM was just the largest most recent example of the left using this tactic.

Hopefully now that the same type of rhetoric is being used against them they might think twice about using it in the future.... but somehow I dought it.
