WASHINGTON (AP) ā The United States experienced a dramatic 12% increase in homelessness to its highest reported level as soaring rents and a decline in coronavirus pandemic assistance combined to put housing out of reach for more Americans, federal officials said Friday.
About 653,000 people were homeless, the most since the country began using the yearly point-in-time survey in 2007. The total in the January count represents an increase of about 70,650 from a year earlier.
The latest estimate indicates that people becoming homeless for the first time were behind much of the increase.
A rise in family homelessness ended a downward trend that began in 2012.

Itās beyond apparent we need to try something different.
The current and previous administrations have absolutely failed the American people while serving other interests.
And while Kennedy may be an option against the failed two party candidatesā¦ Iām not necessarily confident he could really fix the economy.
We need a Ron Paul like figure for that IMO.
David. We all know better.

There are plenty of jobs, it's just that there's a "I went to college I'm not getting my hands dirty" attitude. If they want to make a good living, be ready to sweat......or they can just sit on their pansy ass and whine.

I'm going to pretend to be a conservative poster from 2018, ok?
Damn homeless people should just go out and get a job. They are drug addled perverts who don't want to work. Our economy is booming due to the greatest president of all time. If they want to work, there are plenty of jobs out there for them but they are just to lazy.
And that was wrong of course, the problem was much deeper than that just as it is today. Biden's economic leadership is just a small portion of the problem just as was Trump's and Obama's and Bush's leadership. The capitalist system we have lived under and many of us have lived comfortably for half a century is grinding to a screeching halt and there is no potus, R or D or independent that is going to stop it.
