Re-Entry Onboard NASA's Artemis 1 Moon Mission in Real Time

Around this time last year NASA launched the Artemis 1 Spacecraft to the Moon in preparation for its manned mission in the coming years , Artemis arrived safely on automatic pilot and after orbiting the Moon for a week headed home to complete its successful mission , yesterday NASA released real time footage from inside the capsule of its re-entry , strap in the fireworks start @4.10 of the 25 minute video.


Not so sure I want to be an Astronaut now.

Spectacular! Now I know why aliens crash so often... they get fried when they hit our atmosphere.

If you look at 3:01 and 15:09 it shows clearly that the earth's surface is a wave-like sinusoid 😅

Not so sure I want to be an Astronaut now.

Columbia showed the risk of burning up on re-entry is real, but I've never seen such a dramatic view of re-entry as that video.

Does that imply the Earth is round? Because of the relationship between sinuisoid and circle?



If so I suppose I need to update this diagram of the solar system.



I can figure out how to draw a round earth from the clues there, but drawing a sinusoid earth...I don't know how to do that.

The Earth doesn't look perfectly round during the first couple minutes. Sort of like looking at a potato.
