"Look ATS a poor commented on my thread! How dare they!!" For someone who tries to display this aura of good moral character you sure are quick to pass judgements with absolutely no facts. I can't help that you give out plenty of material to work with as you seem to use ATS as almost a personal journal.
You mean like calling me a bored housewife, or many other assumptions you’ve made about me in several threads?
Yeah, what's with all the insults?
I'm not seeing any real discussion.
And just want to know why she posts all these meaningless threads under the guise of “I’m not this but….”

Something is happening here....it seem like a huge influx of aggressive trolls as new members. Perhaps that's the plan.
I find your threads a measure of sanity in an otherwise mostly chaotic environment.
But if it wasn't for the chaotic environment....I wouldn't bother to even log on
.I’m getting a lot of solicitations to move to another platform.. I haven’t but wonder if some of these attacks are part of that.

The Whitey, white, part of me would say, child abuse, lack of childhood, lack of any other life other than study study study isn’t life. When some American families get an exchange student from Korea they are shocked at how little the student does themselves. Their parents, grandparents and family revolve their life around the student studying. What is often not talked about is the extreme mental, emotional and even physical abuse that takes place if students don’t achieve perfection in grades. This means no A-, no A’s Only A + or any other extra credit.
One thing I do with interns and new hires is sit them down infront of a problem and tell them to work on their own to solve it. I give them a no pressure dead line and make it clear I don't expect that they be a wize at it right away. I explain that I find the struggle to be a good learning experience; and that is what I am interested in for them, that I am not necessarily interested in having the problem solved. Then I tell them not to ask me questions for at least a day. The people who have the type of education being discribe will sit for days with out doing anything because they don't know how to get themselves to even start.
I get the same solicitations. How would the attacks be part of that? You mean to drive you away from ATS so this site could go all MAGA.

Would your mom have minded if I use that saying?

I watched something this morning that had me cracking up.
Since I was a little girl we heard this term “White Flight”
What it meant to me was when black folks started moving in white neighborhoods and they didn’t like it so they would start moving en mass, ie “white flight”. Lots of articles, news stories, and research was done on this.
There was always, always a spin, that the black folks were bringing something negative, something unsavory and that the whites were escaping. (I’m not saying I believe this, but this is how it was portrayed)
Then for the longest time, we didn’t hear much, until now.
White flight of a different kind. Asians are the fastest growing minority in the US.
Here
Data from the 2020 U.S. Census Bureau show that there are approximately 20.7 million Asian and Pacific Islanders in the United States—comprising 6.2 % of the U.S. population—that make up the fastest growing minority group in the United States.
So what is happening is that Asians are moving into areas and they are raising the bar very high, in schools and certain people don’t like that very much. So what are they doing. They are moving to less competitive areas. 😱
Here
Fear of Competition? Research Shows That When Asian Students Move In, White Families Move Out In wealthy, educated communities, evidence emerges of a new form of “white flight.”
cities like Cupertino) where white families disenrolled from local schools following an influx of Asian children, with some parents openly complaining of increased academic competition from the new arrivals.
Let me tell you, as an Asian American person, and former student this is one of the most interesting topics to me.
Some would say YES, raise the bar, everyone should emulate the Asians and their studious behaviors and the parents that “support” them.
The Whitey, white, part of me would say, child abuse, lack of childhood, lack of any other life other than study study study isn’t life. Anything other than perfection isn’t accepted or celebrated. I’ll never forget when I did a sport, I beat all my classmates, I EVEN beat boys in my grade, yet I didn’t beat the girl that was a grade older and my mom scolded me why.
The Asian side of me think a good dose of discipline, values, and bettering ourselves is sorely needed in some of these schools. Some of these parents are doing their children a disservice by removing them from the reality of their future. I also wonder where are they moving and how that changes the dynamic of those places.
I think we will see a lot more of this in the coming years.
