I really wanted to include the Dulce base and it took a few days to figure it out. Even the emoticons drove me crazy. Also, the placement on the seventh day is on purpose… I believe the Dulce base is said to have 7 underground levels, hence the up/down elevator icons and lab coats.

Ever since I got the idea, it’s been driving me crazy. For two weeks I've had to sing it in my head hundreds of times as I tried to find the right words. Also, I wanted to keep a similar verse structure and syllable count as close to the original as possible. Finally, there were so many UFO conspiracy stories that came to mind that I literally could have made it a 24 Days of Christmas song.

One thing I forgot to add is it that the fifth day’s verse is repeated in the real song, so it may mess up the timing for anyone who doesn’t remember that from the original.

LOL, mate, been there, done that, bought the T-Shirt!

I’m a mess, sports-wise. I lived in the UK 20 years (London and Manchester), but my first love is Juventus even though I’ve never been to Turin.

In London, my best mate was a Hammers supporter and his brother, a Spurs fanatic. Every bloody weekend was like WWIII in their household. So, naturally, I supported Liverpool just to piss them both off.

However, a truce was negotiated between us in 1988 as we all supported Enfield F.C. (where we had all gone to school together) as they won the 1987/88 F.A. Trophy. We went to see them play the final at Wembley Stadium against Telford United. Unfortunately, it ended a goalless draw. They won it in the replay, but that was at The Hawthorns (West Bromwich Albion’s turf) and we weren’t able to be there for the grand piss-up.

You've lived a few places. I expect you've learned the same expatriate lesson I have: while globalism may exist, it ain't for the ordinary people. I've found some aspects of expatriate life absurdly complex and often more costly just to get basic things done.
