Venezuela War With Guyana

I'm surprised no one is talking about this. I've been trying to push this story, but everyone is more infatuated with the Ireland riots or the Israel-Hamas war...

Currently, Venezuela is lining troops up on the border with Guyana for a potential invasion of half the country, and no one is talking about it...

Context:

On december 3rd, Venezuela will be having a referendum.

The following questions were approved by the National Electoral Council on 23 October 2023 and approved by the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Justice Court on 1 November 2023:

"Do you agree to reject by all means in accordance with the law, the line fraudulently interposed by the 1899 Paris Arbitration Award, which seeks to deprive us of our Guayana Esequiba?"

"Do you support the 1966 Geneva Agreement as the only valid legal instrument to reach a practical and satisfactory solution for Venezuela and Guyana regarding the controversy over the territory of Guayana Esequiba?"

"Do you agree with Venezuela's historical position of not recognizing the jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice to resolve the territorial controversy over Guayana Esequiba?"

"Do you agree to oppose, by all legal means, Guyana's claim to unilaterally dispose of a sea pending delimitation, illegally and in violation of international law?"

"Do you agree with the creation of the Guayana Esequiba state and the development of an accelerated plan for comprehensive care for the current and future population of that territory, which includes, among others, the granting of citizenship and identity card? Venezuela, in accordance with the Geneva Agreement and International Law, consequently incorporating said state on the map of Venezuelan territory?"

Venezuela has publicly stated they will entrust the military to exercise the referendum. That's the cutest way of saying "we're about to # things up".

The territory in question; Guayana Esequiba

The status of the territory is subject to the Geneva Agreement, which was signed by the United Kingdom, Venezuela and British Guiana on 17 February 1966. This treaty stipulates that the parties will agree to find a practical, peaceful and satisfactory solution to the dispute.[3] Should there be a stalemate, according to the treaty, the decision as to the means of settlement is to be referred to an "appropriate international organ" or, failing agreement on this point, to the Secretary-General of the United Nations.[3] The Secretary-General referred the entire matter to the International Court of Justice. On 18 December 2020, the ICJ accepted the case submitted by Guyana to settle the dispute.

My spidey senses tingle a bit on this, as if this is way more important than anything else going on. More than Ukraine, more than Israel.. I think this is actually a culmination of the formers.

Now that I have my conspiracy hat on, I'll take you down a deep rabbit hole. Saudi crown prince Mohammed Bin Saleem is crowned on 21 June 2017. He takes a hardliner stand in Saudi Arabia, basically becoming one of the most powerful figureheads in the country. CIA doesn't like this change of power. Not only with them, but with Erdogan in Turkey, after we tried to overthrow him in an unsuccessful coup in 2016, which only pushed Turkey and Erdogan more radical and into the eastern blocs hegemony. But back to the Saudis... I believe the Vegas Massacre was a gun deal gone bad between Saudi mediators and CIA assets, potentially with the crown prince being there. The helicopters in the area were never picked up on tracking, and the witnesses claim multiple shooters and as if it were "raining bullets down on them".

With the ramp up of the Ukraine-Russian war, we've seen the Saudis align themselves with Eastern interests, selling oil in currencies other than the dollar. Unable to maintain the petro-dollar without Saudi collusion, and the break-down of Saudi relations are now leading to a ramp down of the Ukraine war. Not to mention the distraction happening in Israel at the moment, which is exactly what I think it is, a distraction. Sure, lets send 2 carrier groups down there and show the Arab countries they won't touch a hair on Israels head.

But back to the petro-dollar...How are we going to replace the petro-dollars backing if Saudi quits? Venezuela...The only FEW posts I've seen about this was on tiktok, and it was random government officials in America saying we need to go to Guyanas defense.

I think there will be some gulf of tonkin incident, that forces American forces to intervene in the region, and securing the Guayana Esequiba region.

All that is speculation. We will see on Dec. 3rd and the following days what culminates.

I had not idea that is something cooking in south America, I had not clue that Venezuela feels powerful enough to wag a war of any kind, I guess it will be a foot war.

Sadly, US have a government right now that is clueless to what is going around in our own Americas, I am sure that Venezuela will be dead on its track trying to annex another country.

Interesting story. They are of course a communist Country, so invading neighboring Countries is not out of the question for them. By the way, who are they going to get to fight in this war? I thought that all Venezuelans moved to south Florida in order to get free Government assistance? I don't know, it may just be my perspective since I live here and am up to my eyeballs in them.

I used to monitor Venezuela as a modern history lesson about socialism and its riches-to-rags story. I even put up a thread here about it and how it's a foreshadowing of things here in the U.S. if socialism keeps growing stronger. I never imagined that they would go to war in a land grab. For what? I doubt a war will help solve any of Venezuela's problems, it will only make things worse I suspect.

I too followed Venezuelan happenings as I knew some people with family there. However I disagree with the OP's assertion that it's the Saudis. It fits into current happenings because of (from my recollections) Russian and Iranian ties to the Venezuelan government. One if not both would benefit from a third theater opening up on the US's doorstep. On top of that didn't the Biden administration cut a few deals with the Venezuelan government?

Going forward remember, there is always something afoot in SA(South America) just as something is always afoot in the ME(Middle East).

My apologies my friend. I may have mislead or you may have misread. What i meant to get at was to explain the pretext as to what lead us here.

I am in no way making the assertion the Saudis are involved. My only assertion i was making is that America needs to replace their Saudi dependance on oil, by invading Venezuela.

If/When WW3 pops off from this potential catalyst, we shouldn't talk about it? America will do what America will do. The leaders of our country know exactly whats happening there. Most of the American population apparently doesn't though. When the warships start heading twords Venezuela, with American leaders full knowledge of the situation, we can't sit here and proclaim ignorance now.

No one in the comments knew this was going on, not to mention you can try google and won't get a clear article about it from ANY mainstream outlet, only outlets like Reuters dancing around it.

Venezuela has the biggest proven oil reserves of any nation if memory serves me correct. That said, they have a thick crude that’s a pain to refine, and they’ve been struggling to keep any kind of infrastructure robust.

Looks like their neighbor found out they have some too and started extracting around 2019. Their economic activity seemed to jump around 40%~ depending on the source.

Venezuela has a lot of joint ventures to help them in pulling out their oil. They also have loans collateralized by some of the subsidiaries of their national oil entity. This is where it gets weird, Rosneft held 49.5 percent up until this past summer.

Looks like I need to catch back up on the rabbit hole down south.

A new general license issued by the U.S. Treasury Department authorized OPEC member Venezuela, which had been under crushing sanctions since 2019, to produce and export oil to its chosen markets for the next six months without limitation.

The last line in the paragraph above is interesting - "produce and export oil to its chosen markets". That sounds nefarious. Who might those markets be? China, no doubt.

Contrary, that isn't the case for Ukraine or Israel. I think the only difference here is this story is going unreported on any media site, left or right. I think you meant YOU don't care, and that's fine.

Simply put...I think the reason no one is talking about it is because no one even knows its happening, as you can clearly see by the majority of the comments..

Personally, I don't have a dog in the fight... I only came across this story random on TIKTOK of all places which brought me to today. My ancestors lived 1,000's of miles away, and I don't think I have a single friends I can say is Venezuelan.
