There seems to be a significant consensus on ATS that Palestine, and the Palestinian people, and the flag representation thereof, is the terrorist organization upon which Israel has declared war.

This is absolutely wrong, and I can understand that some people would make the mistake, since it's so consuming of precious time that any average person would be able to wade through the propaganda war and find trustworthy sources that are actually informative and educational on current events.

HAMAS is the terrorist organization upon which Israel has declared war as a result of the Oct 7th attacks.

This distinction is important because there are many innocent Palestinians living abroad who are in danger of prejudicial violence for the disinformation that Palestinians are terrorists.

This distinction is important to ATS because many members here among us are justifying the "collateral damage" of the innocent Palestinian civilians in Gaza for the explicitly expressed reason that Palestinians are terrorists.

Anyone who says this is spreading disinformation at an alarming rate.

Israel did not declare war on Palestine.

Israel declared war on HAMAS.

I've got my popcorn out for this one. Kinda reminds me of how after 9/11 some people felt like every Muslim was Osama and his band of terrorist misfits.

Anybody attacking and killing anyone else is obviously wrong. At least we can all agree on that. Of course to some, revenge is justified. To quote my least favorite political figure "when they go low, we go high". That seems to be lost. On everyone.

Well I can tell you the train of thought there.

Germany didn't equal the Nazis..
And Japan didn't equal Tojo.
And Italy didn't equal the PNF
And Cambodia didn't equal the Khmer Rouge
And Afghanistan doesn't equal the Taliban

In Gaza, Hamas had less support than in the West Bank. Mainly because not everyone blames Israel for 44% unemployment.

But the West Bank, though not being attacked, currently has some interesting and predictable support allegiance.

www.i24news.tv...

Asked on their view of various entities, respondents answered overwhelmingly in support of the military wings of the terrorist organizations; Palestinian Islamic Jihad with 84 percent; al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades with 80 percent, and al-Qassam Brigades with the highest 89 percent, though Hamas as a whole received a lower 76 percent.

So I guess you're right, Palestine appears to equal PIJ, al-Qassam, al-Aqsa Martyrs, AND Hamas.

You can't deny Palestine currently equals support of Jihadist groups.

When the violent minority dictates the agenda the "peaceful majority" are fettered. The quotation marks pertain to Hamas winning a popular vote.

And yet Gaza is a terrorist state geared to house Hamas and launch terror attacks and thousands of terror rockets into Gaza while Hamas steels aid. Hannas is the government, the brains, and the face of Gaza.

When Hamas re-entered Gaza “victorious” with the hostages and murdered Israelis those streets weren’t empty because of the fear the average Palestinian has for Hamas.

No, those streets were full of jubilant crowds.

Not.
I’m kinda sarcastic.
I always use quotation marks for no reason.

I've heard exactly zero people make that claim. However "Palestinian Officials" does actually equal Hamas. So, citing their statistics or arguments is tantamount to regurgitating the bile of terrorists. Furthermore, according to left logic, palestinians actually voted terrorists in power... which would, by left logic, make them terrorists. I disagree, though that, along with the Palestinians cowardice in refusing to fight their elected terrorist leaders, makes them complicit and not worthy of my sympathy.

Most esteemed members never heard of the war between Hamas and Fatah, either. Who knew?

Yup.

The backwards view of seeing civillians as legitimate targets is the same Qutubism/Wahabism Hamas, Al Queda and ISIS promote and try an justify their barbaric actions on 9/11, 7/7, Oct 7th and more.

You can't defeat terror groups and backwards ideologies by abandonning all morals and values - it only ensures the terrorists win and leads to nations collapsing.

Thankfully Israel are in total opposition to the view all palestinians are Hamas/all Palestinians should be killed view some express on here.

Hamas was the governing faction for what all intents and purposes is a state.

At the end of the day, whether or not you agree with or support a war, when a government attacks another government, this is usually what follows.

There’s going to be an information war and side choosing, and this was a choice made by Hamas.

We could argue whether or not this was the first blow, or if Israel has emboldened them with their recent policies. But Hamas didn’t attack Israeli military or government targets, they went barbarian mode, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that retaliation is going to be extra.

I can sympathize with Palestinians, they had a sh** hand dealt to them. But I can also see through claims that Israel is the biggest blight on them. They’ve had decades of their own elected officials mismanage, steal aid, and prioritize resources away from building up their country. Their aid alone for their size would have many place envy them. They’re incredibly compact and there are comparable cities that survive on less.

And notice there’s pretty much one country that provides consistent material support, and that’s Israel.

No it's a Palestinian territory.

Do you reject Israel's recognition that Gaza is a Palestinian territory?

Are you rejecting factual information?
