Do countries have an obligation to violently respond in the same way as they were attacked plus more? Isn't that the exact way terrorist organizations gain new recruits and support.

Like what? Israel has offered the peaceful two state solution to "Palestinians' and Hamas five times and it was rejected five times. Hamas has vowed never to stop attacking until Isreal is destroyed and the Jews are dead. You can't negotiate with that. You can't just sit there and let them keep attacking. You have to protect your people. Sometimes force has to be countered with overwhelming force to make it stop.

Did you miss the line of my quoted post that mentions this is how to make more terrorists? You are dead wrong that Israel's response is going to make the terrorism stop and you're dead wrong that Israel's response is keeping their civilians safe.

That's the great thing about all of this, from a US prospective.

We don't have to do a thing. We don't have to send Israel money or weapons. We can abstain from any votes in the UN. God will take care of it. In fact, for us to interfere in any way would probably be against God's plan. We should withdraw any ships, weapons, and personnel from the region and let God do what needs to be done.

God knows we have enough problems here at home that we can focus on.

Hamas keeps attacking. They have promised not to stop. Israel has no choice but to protect itself and intervene militarily. The 'Palestinians' and Hamas do not want peace if it means Israel exists. They simply do not. Israel has to fight back. There is no other way.

You just described methods of terrorism, not recruitment. You're way off here. Terrorist organizations gain support and new recruits by capitalizing on the disproportionate violent responses of the sovereign military the terrorists are fighting against.

You would be partially correct if you meant that terror groups gain recruits by the PROMISE of committing acts of brutality, etc. against the sovereignty that engaged a civilian population with traumatizing violence.

Judging by the way this indiscriminate bombardment united the Arabic League, one might even say the coming destruction of Israel was on Bibi and his bunch of cronies.
