I had major open heart surgery on Valentine's Day 2023 here. www.abovetopsecret.com...

Today my insurance company (who paid over $400,000 to fix me) called! The lady said “hi I am calling from Aetna, you have been chosen out of hundreds of people to receive a new IPhone.”

She said “I see that you have had major surgery and we can save you from seeing doctors.” I told her I already have a iPhone. Lol!

After 1/2 hour I agreed to get the new iPhone with free talk and unlimited data as long as I run a app that checks my heart rate, attach a machine 3 times per week that checks my blood pressure, a separate electrocardiogram or ekg for iPhone. The app sends my insurance company my health data three times per week min.

Anytime I use the app it sends the data. I had to agree to use to app at least 3 times per week for three months! They agreed to let me keep the iPhone and service plan free for one year! I really don’t need another iPhone but I am going to do this.

She also told me that if they see something wrong with my heart or I have high blood pressure they will have a staff Doctor look over my information and send me a RX in the mail. Lol.

Does anyone think that in the future we will all be hooked up to a medical app and if there is a problem your insurance company will mail you a RX?

Are they trying to cut out the Doctor visits?

More like they will use the data to better bin us into risk categories in order to set our premiums and insurance costs ... or deem us uninsuranle ... sure they'll send us RXs too to make it more palatable.

They already use real time data to set Car insurance policies; why not do it with people too.

This is all to save money! Some people might like this option. They are testing it on me for 3 months lol. So after 3 months what happens? Lol

I get Doctor on Demand for free through work, and it's been good to me a few times. I video chatted with a doctor, showed her my shingles, was diagnosed and given a prescription without leaving my house.

Shingles sucks, btw.

Wireless radiation is a health hazard , also for heart . Infact human heart is very sensitive organ to wireless radiation.

So this new " use this phone to kill yourself with wireless radiation" does not seem so...healthy

Radiofrequency electromagnetic fields may affect heart health, new EWG analysis finds

Human and animal research studies show that the cardiovascular system is sensitive to radiofrequency radiation. The developing organism, from the fetal stage through early life, is especially vulnerable to these exposures and their potential harms.

In animal studies, exposure to radiofrequency radiation has been associated with structural and biochemical changes of the heart. These changes include irregularity and degeneration of heart muscle fibers, congestion of blood vessels in cardiac muscle, increases in cardiac weight, and changes in the levels of key metabolic substances important for heart function. Examples of these adverse impacts identified in laboratory animals are listed in Table 1.

In two long-term animal studies, one conducted by the National Toxicology Program and another conducted by the Ramazzini Institute, in Italy, heart tumors were observed among laboratory animals exposed to radiofrequency radiation. In the NTP study, ventricular cardiomyopathy, a type of degenerative disease of the heart, was observed in laboratory rats following a relatively short period of 19 weeks of exposure to radiofrequency radiation.

Studies in people suggest that radiofrequency radiation can raise the risk for cardiovascular diseases by increasing blood pressure, total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol. Changes in heart rate and altered response of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system have also been reported following exposure to radiofrequency radiation. Examples of such findings from human epidemiological research, some from occupational settings, are listed in Table 2.

The mechanism of radiofrequency radiation effects on the cardiovascular system is not yet clear. Published studies suggest that radiofrequency radiation increases the production of reactive oxygen species, which in turn may enhance lipid peroxidation and lead to oxidative damage. Radiofrequency radiation exposures can also cause changes to the permeability and function of the cell membrane, as well as changes in intracellular enzymes and DNA damage.

Some time ago ,france banned iphone 12 because it emits too much radiation, i dont know the current situation of it thought.

Sorry to hear all that JJ. What a terrible time for you. At least maybe you are over the worst part, that is, the operation itself and recovery from it.

My oldest had open heart surgery when he was thirteen. His condition and treatment was called 'Tetrology of Fallot. A serious condition and major surgery.
At least here in the UK there wasn't the concern you have over insurance etc. We had specialists and a surgeon brought up from London.

It's all changing here though. The US model is what the money men want and Covid has helped ring some changes. It wasn't so long ago we could just call for an appointment and see the GP. Now it's all, call backs, long waits and phone appointments.

We also lost thousands of nurses over the vaccine issue but now that it's over there has been no rush to replace them. Once upon a time a shortage of nurses would be met by a recruitment drive. Now we get crickets.

My son's operation was over thirty years ago and he is still going strong. I wish the same for you my friend. A worrying time with so many side issues.

Best regards mididcon

Why would they give you an iphone with all that instead of just a known accurate bp/ekg device for a 100th of the cost?

The insurance compan a re clearly using the data for purposes other than what they told you and seemd very dangerous for an untrained person using a trial to monitor their health via a device not designed to take these readings instead of someone with medical qualifcations using proper equipment.

Glad to live in a country with national healthcare as this sounds very disturbing and puts patients at higher risk to increase profits for insurance companies.

Something like this could have a place in minor ailments like a sore toe but less than a year after major heart surgery is crazy.

My Fitbit does the same thing lol! They must be up to something. They did keep my on the phone for a while asking many questions. With my old heart issues I do know how tho manually check my BP.

Thank you for your amazing input!

Wishing you all the best - I would keep an eye on the phone readings when you get in and out of a car as a friend has an IWatch thing and it fails to sitinguish between running and driving in a car. withour manual input.

I work out everyday. This Fitbit is always wrong! I had cardio rehab for my heart and we tested the Fitbit with real equipment that works and everything was way off!

My o2 saturation level is always wrong on the Fitbit compared to a good pulse ox. I thing I am going to toss it out!

Thank you!

Doctors, pah!

I've been on a wait list for a pcp in my area for 18 months.
Six months ago I had a foot doctor tell me my shoe inserts with be ready in 6-8 weeks, when I call they say they'll have to call me back, but never do.

Might as well give up on having health care, this is what we have in a "functioning" society!
