Because the GOP's extremist views on abortion are costing them elections.

I should care about the GOP why?

I was answering your question about why the GOP would want to compromise with Democrats on this issue. The answer to that is that they're currently losing elections.

Oh please! I'm not talking about thesis papers on morality for academic posterity.

And of course, the most obvious example, Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam.

More BS!
Northam was describing the harsh reality of the process as it existed at that moment, while discussing the proposed bill. At that moment, a fetus with dire anomalies, that are incompatible with life, will be born. Then, it's up to the parents to decide what kind care and what level of heroic intervention they want for their deformed and suffering newborn.

What do you think happens when a baby is born with no brain or some other equally devastating disease?

Abortion is simply a topic a people call feel good about forcing control over another person. No, Yes?
If we care about life so much, why not force people to be organ donors?? Ohhhh, that’s too much control?
What about blood donation…. it’s to save a life right..pro life.

Exactly!

We all know anti-abortion is primarily religious objection.

So much for separation of church and state.

It should in no way be anyone's issue/choice but woman and her doctor.

The sperm donor's rights depend on his personal actions/behavior.

so what is the latest the democrats are willing to go? 12 weeks? 26 weeks? until Birth, but call it something different?

Democrats have always been willing to accept viability as the limit. Since some fetuses will never achieve viability, there is no appropriate limit in terms of weeks or trimesters.

So no limits. Which is totally different than late term abortions. Not sure if you comprehend this, but you just showed your hand full of garbage. Why not just say it like you mean it rather than use weasel words and lies? I'd use the word integrity, but it quite obviously doesn't apply here.

That's not what I said. I said that viability should be the "limit" line.

Nice way of dismissing the secular objections.

Primarily means primarily -- "for the most part"

By intention. I didn't dismiss anything.

No. It's all about moral character.
That thing that some folks refuse to believe that it exists .Because if it did , and they got that bug , it would ruin their social lifestyle.

As an atheist I am continuously told I can not have morals because I do not believe in a god

Religion.

That's not true though. Anyone can have morals with or without a religion. And when it comes to abortion the objections are not always based on religious grounds.

I know it's slightly off topic but didn't you not see the Prime Minister of Israel Netanyahou appealing to the Old Testament when he argued to exterminate all the enemies of his country. That's what we call morals!

I did not say it was true -- I said that is what I am told.

Actually, as an atheist you are 100% responsible for yourself and your actions. There is no "go to guy".

Since, I alone, am responsible for my standards & morals -- I take it very seriously -- as do most atheists.

Why would I listen to someone appeal via the Old Testament? And if I did -- why would it have meaning to me? I wouldn't.

The Old Testament God didn't care about unborn babies. Old Testament God would have folks kill a unwed pregnant woman, her unborn child and the man who knocked her up. Also in the case of adultery, they all get killed.

Super, at what point is a child "viable" to survive outside the womb?

21 weeks?
