The year was 1991….

I was working three jobs, all of them were sucking the life out of me. I remember a friend bragged to me that she just got a job making $9 an hour and I was so jealous I almost cried. (That just cracks me up now) She was rubbing it in all our faces.

In my “free” time I liked to connect to the internet. At that time of course it was through the phone line.
The god awful screech meant I was connected. Connected to what?

mIRC of course.

It was the Wild Wild West of the internet. It didn’t take long for mods to be needed.
ATS is feeling a lot like those days. It makes me laugh. This is somewhat, what Anarchy looks like, online version.

I’m 10000% against censorship, but unfortunately so many people have zero control over themselves.

Women were better looking back then. So were the men. Post 1991 we now have obese twisters running around as women so the NWO put development into Tgirls, Shemales aka Transgengders and much much more.

Had I a time machine the late 80`s to the early 90`s is where I`d aim at with a 1 way ticket. I`d have been 5-6 in 1991 and was completely engrossed in all things military and sci-fi aviation back then. When nostalgia comes knocking thats the "where/when" it wants to go.

I was 10 in 91, so jumping my huffy off a sick jump was all i cared about then. I do remember computer lab in school though, and i do remember the class clown pulling a grainy picture of hot bewbs up, cause there were no parental blocks, and my teacher about had an aneurism.

I rejoined the site again 4th time in a year due to log in issues. I have hope the older user base will return and civil, intelligible discussion will over take the recent Anarchy. Ignore the Bots and carry on up the top secret passage, regardless.

Anyway, I was still in diapers in 91, but I'd love to go back with my body this age, and stay there.
I miss Soundgarden and Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley, and Art Bell on Coast to Coast.
I'd miss watching online videos A LOT, and would go through withdrawals, but fine, I need to get back into reading anyway.
A lot of great classic books came out in the 90s too.

And VHS and cassettes aren't that bad really when they're new and haven't been run down and grainy. There's a certain charm to it.
Plus I' could see the Matrix trilogy in theaters. That was one thing I missed out on.

I honestly see this country as 2 era: Pre 9-11, and Post 9-11. Everything got worse after the attacks, and they continue to, despite the laptops, realistic videogames, and smart-phones.

Plus, when it was dial-up and everyone else was offline, you tended to be more selective about what you spent data and time on on the internet.

Seeing 47 inane TikToks autoplaying and spewing some disproven wives tale or urban myth, just because you clicked on one you wanted to see,
isn't helping humanity's intelligence level either.



I remember how terrifying the narrator's voice was on "Unsolved Mysteries", and you waited in anticipation to see what monster/s would be on X-Files next week.

The 90s weren't all bad. They were optimistic. I miss optimism.

In the 80s people were more attractive, they wore fashion clothing and wore their hairs in stule.

Now is a mess, individuality is nothing but making people unresponsible of social standards or what ever it is today.
