Will Venezuela Election be Fair? Regime Change?

not in the news much but Venezuela is a mess as Hugh Chavez and now Nicolas Maduro have ruined the economy with communist policies.
Thousands are fleeing Venezuela, many coming to the US.

under US pressure Venezuela is in the process of having elections.
An 'industrial engineer' named Maria Corina Machado has won the equivalent of the primary and presumably will face Maduro in a national election.

the Maduro government has outlawed various candidates and parties. US sanctions are forcing them to undo these policies but it remains to be seen if Venezuela will have an actual, fair election this fall.

I suspect they want regime change but we'll see. once communists take power they rarely leave.

Are you really sure about that because I am not.

There is another take on the reasons why. Might it not be more to do with what the outside is doing to little Venezuela because they have chosen this path? Cuba knows all about that. Everyone who gets on the wrong side of the Mystery Empire becomes Russia and China fodder.

Unfortunately China and Russia do not have quite the same attitude to their trading partners as the West. That means they can't grow and are kept downstairs,

Please wake up and get healthy. Do that or you will die if you don't. No more dead Americans please. Stop making gangs in Mexico, Central and South America and you will stop your own extinction.

You are currently being replaced by Catholics. As their lives improve they will not want to use coc aine. Most of them hate it and want to escape the horror of what they are running from, but still they are tormented as the mafias move among them in their crowd.

Venezuela’s top court on Monday nullified results of an opposition presidential primary that took place last month — just weeks after the U.S. lifted sanctions on some of the country’s industries in exchange for a free election guarantee.

"[Venezuelan President Nicolas] Maduro hoodwinked [U.S. President] Biden by making promises to lift sanctions, but these promises are likely to prove ineffective, especially concerning primary elections in Venezuela after the illegitimate Supreme Court's decision voiding the result," Isaias Medina III, a former Venezuelan diplomat at the U.N. Security Council who resigned in 2017 due to Maduro's human rights violations and crimes against humanity, told Fox News Digital.

Maduro is a communist and a tyrant, and its unheard of for such to forfeit power against their will.

The US in a Barbados meeting offered sanctions relief for 6 months,maybe more,if Venezuela eases up on restrictions for opposition members and guarantees free elections. So now the Venezuelan government has to decide wether to risk it on a "normal" election Wich they fear as any other dictatorship fears, or risk their one chance on sanctions relief (Wich ultimately benefits oficial government workers) .

As a Venezuelan, I voted in the primaries Wich were not planned by the corrupt state electoral council.theyre already going after the planners and made the primaries results void (Wich they can't do since they didn't plan it at all).
The leading opposition figure right now is a woman that has set herself apart from the rest of the controlled opposition.A large part of the Venezuelan oppositiona frustration is lack of leadership,and old politicianscooperating with the regime in return for scraps.
This lady called Maria Corina Machado is barred from running for office. Part of the US agreement in Barbados was to enable her and other politicians that are barred from office, all of them leading opposition figures.

We'll see what next year's elections bring.
