The serious consequences of losing this site

I don't care about all the silly and dirty posts going on right now. It's like teenage boys having fun without parents. They will get bored and move on, and I can ignore them.

What deeply saddens me, is the possible loss of some truly amazing information.
Just think of Mr Koi's information alone. What about other brilliant content, from members that have passed away?

It is truly heartbreaking to think about.

I have tried to find info I printed off, from other old sites. They seem to have just disappeared.

I can't even imagine that type of loss with the content here.

I know how to at least get my own threads from here, and copying and pasting some other good one but that is about the extent of my knowledge for saving the info.

The sheer volume of info here, and it's possible loss is just devastating to think about

You still know that information and that is what really matters. There is so much information out there it is hard to keep up with it all. Make some sense of it and have a clearer idea of how this world works and how to get through it, helps those you can with it.

The internet is temporary and fleeting.

Sometimes it reminds us to get out and find new sites, new people.

Joined to get at my stuff/threads easier, it's me TDDA, but I won't keep this account if the old one can not be restored.

If someone needs to find me when ATS is offline, I am on the well known discord and RN.

Just want to let you guys know that I am having serious problems with my computer today, since being on this site it seems.
I'm going to avoid being here for a few days, perhaps the problems will clear up?

The member brought 0 evidence, at this point it's just putting rumors into the world.

If there is anything really important, now is a good time to make some backups while all the past data is still available. If the site can hold it together I am sure there will be plenty of new stuff to read.

LOL Ive must have checked 4-5 times here yesterday to see if the situation has improved.

With so much going on in the world, ATS was a bit of my clearinghouse of news and information, Twitter is OK and Rogue Nation is where I'll likely be, even if ATS survives it will probably lose even more real content contributors that it will likely be a shadow of itself. It's weird ATS existed fine for years with a flare-up here and there, now these past 6-7 years when so much is happening ATS isn't set up to process it all effectively. Back in the day, the UAP acknowledgment would have been discussed over and over instead it has been somewhat dismissed.

It's become a big graffiti wall, and everybody is coming to spew their dogma and grievances

It only works well for me, when there are enough participants and a good mixture of content and viewpoints. I just can't stand the back-and-forth arguing, it bleeds into almost every thread. Some members here I know their posts just from the same words and expressions used over and over and over. None of that encourages free thought and ideas, it dampens it.

It worked better when we were questioning and curious instead of cantankerous, cranky, and self-righteous.

There is loads of good old content here that needs to be archived, the survival and herbal remedies are what I'll miss most. Damn, lots of suggestions really helped me over the years...

well, that and the people from all over the world who have contributed much over the years.

enough of my morning rant... off to see what's up in the real world and if it is too depressing just stick to watching college football.

Folks, if you're good people, even lefties (ew) maybe Rogue-nation might be a safe harbor until things settle down or die.

Just to be on the safe side, I'm probably going to do a wash of my computer, clean my cookies and stuff and avoid ATS for a bit.
