It seems to me that the change on this website displays very well the changes we see affecting society. In the past it would take 10, 50, 100 years or more to see the changes that are occuring on the daily in our time.

With that in mind and the imminence of world events that are about to occur and will never occur again this felt like a good choice this morning:

And yep, that's the Hoff.

ironically, my theme song is all about change
standing up against all odds to be better and do better

I give to you Dirty Heads - Sound of Change

to add if it wasn't this one, it would be Tom Petty - Wont back down

Never heard it. But another good one. For whatever reason it brought this to mind, even though they don't seem connected in any way:

In the darkest hour, of the longest night
If it was in my power, I'd step into the light
Candles on the alter. Penny in your shoe
Walk upon the water. Transcendental blues

Happy ever after, 'til the day you die
Careful what you ask for, you don't know 'til you try
Hands are in your pockets, starin' at your shoes
Wishin' you could stop it. Transcendental blues

If I had it my way, everything would change
But out here on this highway the rules are still the same
Back roads never carry you where you want 'em to
They leave you standin' there with them ol' transcendental blues

Enya is great

Shame that she took her official site down.

I feel she is finally ready to retire for good.

The last one was solid for sure.

My favourites are probably The Celts/Enya, Memory of Trees, Watermark. Amarantine has some really cool sounds on it too.

I've never fit in anywhere. I started dressing goth and listening to metal in middle school because I realized I was old enough to not be scared of my uber religious narcissist mom anymore.
I got called a poseur and a f^gg0t. Now all the other "goth" kids I wanted to like me go to church and get Starbucks before their gym run, and wear pastels, and here I am, in my thirties, the last man standing and all alone.
Everything I've done has somehow backfired horribly. Black sheep of my family.
All I ever wanted to do was make music but a career's not in the cards, so all the life's sucked out of it and I can't even do it for fun anymore.
Tested above genius level but always f^ck sh1t up or get screwed over somehow. Found out recently I'm actually on the autism spectrum and just never knew. The genetic roulette wheel also blessed me with a lifelong struggle with Major Depressive Disorder, which has at times led to severe alcoholism, but now I've beat that, and have nothing to live for to soften the blow, and often think I was better off dying of drinking.
At least as a drunk I sometimes laughed, ya know? But I'm a loner. I walk into a room and instantly find the spot furthest from the people.

Was a journalist for a while, pissed off a FEMA director and he ruined my life with slander.
Tried starting a comedy YouTube channel and got some followers for a while but was much too late to the website to even have a chance.
Tried joining the Air Force but recruiter told me no because I burgled a building when I was 19.
My stepdad talked me up to his bosses at Lockheed and I showed up to take the exams for the temp agency drunk off my @55 and failed it on purpose bc forget the money, I don't want to make war machines. I went back out to the truck, polished off a bottle of wine and drove home. I never heard the end of that one.
I stopped trying now. Honestly just waiting for a nuke to fall on me, NGL. This song runs through my head a lot these days.

Your comment actually brings back to mind some of my high school days. I had several classmates that were into the goth morbid, macabre scene back then. And they looked pretty scary and acted pretty scary. But we got along pretty well. I even remember getting with a group of goth classmates and we played this D&D type game during lunch hour, usually in an empty hallway.

One of them was a locker-mate of mine. And I had good conversations with all of them. One was into Death Metal and Satanism. And he talked to me about a time he went to some type of gathering in the mountains. This was decades ago so my memory on this has to be very fuzzy. I just remember he was scared out of his mind at what he saw, he knew I believed in God, and Satan and the demons. I have my own stories I could relate about both. Anyway I remember telling him about Jehovah God, and we even went on a school band trip one year to Las Vegas, we played at ULVN. And we shared a room at the Excalibur. I said a prayer to Jehovah God with him that night. And he said it was the first night in ages he had a peaceful sleep. I don't know what happened to him after that as I switched high schools.

Thanks for your story.

'Lover of My Soul' by Johnny Parks

as Jonah ran
I ran from You
and like David I've sinned too
and as Thomas need to rest his eyes upon Your feet and hands
I've doubted too, Lord, but here I stand

Ittook me a bit of time to narrow this down but after a couple of hours of letting my roiling mind bubble around I have decided that this one, which I have posted several times from my last incarnation comes out on top.

I was just getting cozy in bed when I saw your reply and watched the video. And for some reason it made this song come to my mind and some funny memories. My twin brother really liked cowboy music. And he got me to listen to it as well. In fact when I listen to it it reminds me of him. Anyway we're in Gunnison, on a brother's ranch, and he shares this song with his mom, an older sister in the congregation. And she's listening to it till the end then starts laughing, and she couldn't stop laughing, and it made us laugh. She just loved it:
