Those who take hostages have an aim and this is to negotiate in the future. Regardless of what they are sworn to do they have released two American hostages and hopefully they will release all of them

I have already made a thread about the release of the two hostages. The nature of the conversation turns this way if others don't have valid arguments and throw strawmen or accusations. That's always the case online.

Hamas was allegedly prepared to release more hostages.

Hamas says Israel’s refusal to accept two captives shows it’s not serious about “stopping the bloodshed” in Gaza.

“Due to severe humanitarian conditions, we decided to hand them over to their families, through our brothers in Qatar. That’s what we informed them last night. [We didn’t want] anything in return,” said Hamas spokesman Khaled al-Qaddoumi.

“Unfortunately, the government of Israel refused to take them and this is proof that this occupation government is not serious, and is not ready to stop the bloodshed.”

Israeli earlier described the Hamas claim as “mendacious propaganda”.

That is a complicated question. Hamas dreams of having an army such as American army to fight with Israel a typical war, but they don't have the means for it. They use bad methods to get what they want because they can't get it through conventional routes.

Sounds about right for right now. Tensions have to settle down, but I'm not waiting for that to happen any time soon.

Probably I have created most threads than anyone else for the time I have been on this site. But I was lurking for over 2 decades.

The situation with the hostages gives a bit of hope and hopefully all hostages will be released in the future.

All should be release and if not America should have troops on the ground guaranteeing American hostage release. JHC this will be another Carter hostage crisis.

America doesn’t take crap from anyone. Sniveling college kids are ignorant of the world. Progressives are just as oblivious.

Overwhelming force should be used to eliminate the threat and set an example for the next dumbarse that decides to get frisky.

If the hostages who were released were part of a large group, and can help commandos figure out where they were being held, then its imperative the HAMAS thugs be raided by surprise.
