While 90% of the threads are currently about Israel, another major front is ongoing north in Ukraine. There was a major attack overnight that was carried out, for the first time using American made short range ATACMS (attack 'em(s)). We just announced the delivery of the missiles today; the admin waited to announce delivery until after it was first used in the field. Which means it was delivered days or weeks ago.

The attack was brutal. It is being called "one of the most destructive attacks on Russian air assets since the beginning of the war." That's nearly two years now. It was also very precise.

Kyiv's defense ministry said the attacks on the airfields in Berdyansk and Luhansk — both of which are in Russian-occupied territory — resulted in the loss of nine helicopters, an air-defense launcher, vehicles, and ammunition depots, and caused severe damage to the airstrips. Ukraine attributed the "successful" operation, known as "Dragonfly," to the country's special operations forces, which also published details of the incidents.

Multiple airstrips, 9 helicopters, air defenses, ammo depots and dozens of military personnel, all in one targeted op.

What a completely different war. Down south in Israel, the population is dense, it is nearly impossible to avoid civilian causalities. Up in Ukraine, there is so much space between civilian and military targets, these precise attacks show exactly how it's supposed to be done. This is how the Russians should be taking out Ukrainian targets too, not hospitals and schools and residential buildings.

Keep it up Ukraine, you have a right to defend your homes too!

Good news , according to this Russian Milblogger "Fighterbomber" on Telegram has described the attacks as "one of the most serious strikes of all time in the Northern military history , if not the most serious" .

As Ukraine keeps chipping away Russian stocks keep depleting , not going to replace those 9 Helicopters in a hurry.

Footage reportedly from the Berdiansk airfield.

Footage from the ammo dump as it goes Bang.

Ah, thank you for specifically mentioning the US and our delivery of long range missiles for your massive attack against Russia.

We greatly appreciate being put in that spotlight.

lol I already don't like the Ukraine, this just adds whipped cream to the top of my "Hate-Smoothie"

You're very welcome. In fact let's say it one more time:

America will help out all of our allies in times of great need, as we always promise we will. Our word is our bond.

What's the point of being the biggest and the toughest if you don't help those who need it? Especially if they are your friends and they ask for your help.

Thanks for reading.

They could always go home. The attacks would have a high probability of stopping if they weren’t seeking to expand their borders.

The problem is that we're broke, and helping in war efforts also paints a target on your back.

Everybody is broke. Every single country on the planet is broke and operates on credit.

We just have better credit.

I don't see how this is an escalation, just one more fight in a war.

The goal of the Ukrainian fight is for the Russians to go back to Russia and take their invading military with them. The Ukrainians would then move all the surviving displaced people back into their homes. Once they've rebuilt.

Until the Russians are back on their own land, and Ukrainians a free people, back in their homes, I don't see how the war ends. Other than complete annihilation of every last Ukrainian.

Would you do any less defending your own home? Place where you grew up?

Russia has been skelping Ukraine with cruise missile strikes since day dot of madness aka Purins ""special military operation"" aka failed invasion on day 3.

They take what they get would be my thinking on the matter also.

If even true, I don't think the loss of a few helicopters will make much impact on anything. Other than your moral. If this is what you all now consider a victory in Ukraine I'd hate to see how you all handle a loss...

BTW how's the offensive going?

Not about me, my opinion, or my moral.

And what i would consider victory would simply be Russia going back home.

Those helicopters are estimated to be about $16 million a piece.

And are required to defend against the likes of tank incursions and also border patrol /defense.

Russia started with around 100 and now has 30 left or thereabouts.

Then there is the additional support equipment and associated vehicles that will also have been damaged or went up in smoke and the airfield that was put out of action.

As to victory, unfortunately, that is not on the cards yet.

ATACMS missiles will help all the same.

Russia's offensive?

About as well as the initial ""special military operation"" by the looks of things.

Why do you hate Ukraine, the West, the UK, Europe, the US so much that you support Russia's war?

Why do you keep sneering at Ukraine trying to defend itself?

What do you think life would be like for Ukrainians if Russia wins?
