"Whole Lotta Rosie" - Bear 128 Wins National Park's Annual Fat Bear Crown

Bear 128 who probably weighs in at more than 19 stone has been crowned the winner of the annual Fat Bear competition at Katmai National Park in Alaska , she's been given the nickname of "Grazer" although I think Rosie is more apt as there is a whole lot of her.


Rosie beat off stiff competition from the park's estimated 2,200 brown bears taking 108,321 of the record setting 1.3 million votes cast , Rosie is said to be "one of the best anglers" at the park and an excellent mother , she faced stiff competition from a male bear , 32 Chunk, but her girth combined with her parenting and fishing skills saw her see off the competition and gain her place in the "Hall of Chompions".

Human female in modern times might get upset, a few hundred years back it was considered a status symbol to have some meat on your bones.
