Norman Angell argued something similar pre each of the last world wars, but it never quite works that way people think.. the loss of plurality in the us means they are not conjoined on external issues the way a power needs to be to wield the big stick, the gunboat or flash the gold..

what Norman Angell missed in his analyse is what happens when the peace brought with gunboat gold and big sticks starts to unzip, we are at the initial stages of that unzipping as Palestine/Israel feather into other groups who have taken a side in that fight, be NI, Nigeria, India/Pakistan or China/Taiwan.. this will spill over in ill thought out and uncontrollable ways we're already seeing as the loss of plurality and self confidence is causing havoc in western policy making that is weak and feeble.

into this china watches for its moment, Taiwan is less important that controlling Europe/Africa and Asia but as self confidence goes its very important part of the reclamation process of becoming the next power. the Americans wanted to invade Canada for that same reason.

Here are my concerns. We are already involved with ukrain/Russia, in fact it’s been depleting our munitions depo. Last thing I want to see is us having to help Israel right now, of which I’m in support of for reasons of a different topic. But this will stretch us very thin. I fear Israel will be attacked from the north by Hizbollah as well here soon and it will get worse.

My second concern, even more so with shmuck commander in chief in office, China will move on Taiwan. Then what next for China and Russia?

Kim Jong Un is also wanting to attack SK... so yes, it could go off with 4 wars all at the same time... and then we'll have to hope none of them use Nuclear!

If China invaded Taiwan today, it would face some really severe consequences, especially if it fails to capture a heavily fortified Taiwan.

The U.S. and its allies would instantly blockade the straight of Malacca, blocking more than half of its imports and exports. This would cause high inflation around the world, but probably China would feel it the most. A lack of energy and resources would cause massive death in China, which would make its government even more unstable.

If there were an all-out war with China, then advanced semiconductors would be embargoed as well.
