The needs of the one outweighed by the needs of the many.

Also, the existing residents have already been re-homed.

And, as far as the Vietnam veterans, what exactly did they 'win' for the American people by blasting away at a foreign country? Just asking.

The lack of comprehension in this post is well above epic.

The many illegals that shouldn’t be here in the first place?

Hopefully your piss ant country’s veterans are treated better than what our vets get.

You should be ashamed of that post.

This happened to a friend of mine, living in lower cost housing. It is happening to American seniors regardless of their status as VA, which should be the FIRST to have these residences.

Turns out the govt pays the landlord more for an immigrant.

So multiply this story by THOUSANDS.

I don't need to read about it in the paper.

Govt pays the landlord more for immigrants than section 8.

damn right, whether the one is a born and raised U.S. Citizen or became a citizen through legal means, and lived there for years before 2.8 million illegal non citizens came in over the past year. and kicked out not by a state or federal government, but by a city government that use to brag about being a sanctuary city that really wasn't when it came time to be called on it.

Also, the existing residents have already been re-homed.

no they had to find their own place to live, which in the times now is gonna be extremely hard for old folks on a fixed income. the city, the state, nor the federal government did a damn thing to help the folks living there. just a note and told to get the blank out so we can house illegals and virtue signal. here's a idea, find some empty land throw up some tents put a fence around it and let the illegal aliens live there until sent home.

And, as far as the Vietnam veterans, what exactly did they 'win' for the American people by blasting away at a foreign country? Just asking.

reading comprehension or geography must not be any of your strong suits, it clearly states that he was a Korean War veteran. no where in any article was any Vietnam veterans mentioned.

This should be a lesson to all the young folk out there, when your country asks youu to fight for them, this is how it will end up, you'll be cast aside like old brass.

No better in my country either to be fair.

I'd urge anyone thinking about a military career to think of something else,. all you will get is PTSD and shoddy treatment.

Except back then, when this guy served, all the way thru to Viet Nam, young men didn't have a choice. This thing called the draft.

It will come back if all the youth follow your advise.

Wow. It was really effortless for you to rationalize that atrocity.

The end always justifies the means, eh?

Maybe you should take a minute and look up the draft/selective service in the US during WW2 and Vietnam.

If you were within the age range during WW2 and Vietnam, you were shipped out to fight for your country.

Not if you refused or got out of the US for a few years though.

"refusing" the draft is illegal and leaving the country is considered desertion, both punishable by severe jail time.

Do some research on the Draft, and you will find all of the "possibilities" you can think of and why they don't work. Unless you want to go to jail.

There are certain things that get you out of service, but just "not wanting to go" does not qualify.

still its a choice that many made, including Muhammad Ali. Never said it was free of consequences but it is a choice you can make.

Either ship out and fight for your country or ship off to jail as a felon.

Yes, there are the few that is "works out" for, but they are in the minority and can't really be seen as a good example of how things work.

Always fun to argue American military with those who know little to nothing about how it works.

Its you that failed to understand the point I was making.
Everyone has a choice, whether that choice lands you in gaol or not is down to luck.
Plenty of blokes went to live in Canada or Mexico to avoid the draft, it wasnt just something that the Bill Clintons and Dubya Bush types got away with.

Those that left the country to avoid the draft are a disgrace and should have never come back.

BTW, "Dubya" was Air National Guard, not sure how that was "avoiding" anything. Clinton was on educational deferment, one of those few things that get you out of it.

Not everyone who serves or gets drafted sees combat action.

My great grandfather was denied deployment in a direct combat role due to being anemic, so he served in a clerical capacity. But he still served, and so did W.
