"TYRE, Lebanon (Reuters) - Lebanon's Hizbollah guerrillas flew an unmanned surveillance drone over northern Israel on Monday, the group and the Israeli army said.

news.yahoo.com.../nm/20050411/wl_nm/lebanon_israel_dc_3

At first glance this looks like a small issue, but actually it is a very big deal. If a terror group has and can fly a UAV over israel it can load it up with bombs or chemicals or biotoxins. This is a very bad thing.

A UAV with a few ml of VX could kill thousands............

Hmmmm... I wonder where they got the Idea for UAV's from?

An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), also called a drone, is a self-descriptive term used by the US military, the Israeli Defence Forces and others to describe the latest generations of pilotless aircraft.

The Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) have pioneered the production and usage of UAV for military purposes, as early as 1982.

U.S. Models is Service:

* RQ-1 Predator/RQ-1 Mariner
* RQ-2 Pioneer (with the IAI)
* RQ-3 Dark Star
* RQ-4 Global Hawk/Euro Hawk
* RQ-5 Hunter (with the IAI)
* RQ-6 Outrider
* RQ-7 Shadow
* RQ-11A Raven
* GNAT-750
* ScanEagle
* Dragon Eye

Israeli Models in Service:

* IAI Pioneer (with the USA)
* RQ-5 Hunter (with the USA)
* IAI Harpy
* IAI Heron
* IAI Ranger
* IAI Scout
* IAI Searcher
* IAI Skylite - Canister Launched mini-UAV system

I think the UAV's have already been "loaded up with bombs and rockets" - if you check all the models that USA and Isreal use, I bet there are some that are already armed.

Initial generations have primarily been surveillance aircraft, but some have already been fitted with weaponry (such as the RQ-1 Predator, which has been fitted with AGM-114 Hellfire air-to-ground missiles).

There is a big diff between responsible adults (US and Israel) having nice toys and irresponsible spoiled brats (terrorist) having nice toys.

US-Israel=Good

Here we go!! *sits down with some popcorn*

I am kind of curious too where they would get a UAV capable of any kind of surveillance. I.e. not just a remote controlled plane.

Might I point out that before any arguments take place that there is no right and wrong just grey and also that UAV's can be shot down...

God, no wonder the world's in a mess. The 'adults' creating all this high tech gadgetry are like a bunch of kids reading too many comic books.

Predator, Dark Star, Dragon Eye, Harpy... what's next in this dungeons and dragons fantasy?

It should be one of the eight Hezbollah's drones supplied by Iran. the UAV carries three cameras, digital radar and electronic broadcasting devices. It is able to reach an altitude of 6,000 feet and reach a maximum speed of 120 km/h. and here is a picture of the UAV that flew over Israel

www.ynetnews.com...

and this is the close up of the UAV

Dear Doctor H!

Yes, what Great Toys do USA and Isreal do have.

And they are not the only ones that have them!

How does that make you feel Doctor? To taste a little bit of your own Medicine?

Anyway this is the Second flight of the UAV's by Hizb Allah:

In the second such spy plane flight since November, the Mirsad drone overflew settlements in the north of Israel, a Hizb Allah source said on Monday. "It returned safely to base," he said.

And ofcourse soon after, Isreali had to Answer so that they will have the Last Word:

After the mission, Israeli warplanes flew at low altitude over the southern port city of Tyre, causing a sonic boom, Lebanese police said.

Only out of pure anger surrounding this embarrassed - since the entire Israeli Air Force is so Proud how they control the skies of Isreal.

That incident deeply embarrassed the Israeli air force, which has prided itself for decades on having total control of the region's skies.

Dr. Horacid, do every one of your threads have to be incendiary in some form or fashion? Every day, every thread, it's always the same steaming pile. Your mind is the antithesis of an open mind. It's obvious you start these threads so you can get into neverending arguments with people, just to accrue more and more points in the process.

BTW, the "His-ebola" thing wasn't really that funny, but I guess for someone who thinks Hee-Haw is piss-in-your-pants hilarity, it would be.

Peace

In the secular world of shades of grey it is hard for so many to understand good vs evil , right and wrong. The US could have long ago taken over the planet yet has chosen not to do so even unto this very day!

Taste of our own medicine? More likely a teaspoon of hemlock if its from Has-ebola.

Keep it simple.........

US-Israel - White 10 gallon cowboy hats

Terrorist - small black turbans - (bad guys for those secular among us)

If people stopped replying to his threads... he'd have no incentive to post more of the same...

see where i'm going here?

now i've gone and added to the problem myself with this post, but the point had to be brought up.

Hee-haw? what is hee-haw?

Is anything that YOU disagree with "inflamitory" to you. Do you wish to have only those whom agree with your 'pathalogical disorder" discuss things here?

Please defend HIZBOLLAH. One of the most dangerous terror organizations ever. Or just sit with your thumb up your arse as usual.

Thats a pretty naive statement, the sitting US administration has proven over and over that they are far from responsible.
You are either working or the government for propaganda purposes on the net or you are one of the most naive american patriots alivew today.

I play the game of black n white alot better then you can DR.

I can go to the hobby store and buy all the camras I need to make a RC plane into a surveillance plane. I could make the plane fly with solar power.
The tools are at everyday hobby shops.

The hard part would be making an Auto-fly program.

Does no one understand that a UAV in the hands of terrorist like hizbollah is a very dangerous thing.

A camera weights more than a few ounces of bio-toxin. Iran whom backs and funds hizbollah is not beyond diverting attention from itself through such an attack. A few UAV's could kill thousands in a small place like Israel.

If they wanted to conduct a chemical or biological attack then why not just use regular rockets?

UAV's would be great for attacks that need greater accuracy but is it really needed for chemicals?

UAV's have a greater range. The rockets require a fairly 'strong" bio-toxin compartment due to the "g's" of liftoff......and UAV doesn't. Much slower takeoff. The UAV is much more controllable and slower, lower path. With a GPS guidance they can be launched on a long specific path for mutliple targets.
