Paranormal studies group

Hey ATS members, I'm trying to get a group of like minded independent practitioners of witchcraft/magical, any tradition, any craft. The purpose would be to help us learn together to be stronger individuals and to help disseminate information to people who are new to practicing magick. Please message me here the level of involvement you wish to have, and what you might be able to bring to the table. I also have a vision for this group to become investigators of sorts collaborating across the United States to investigate and report paranormal activity in local areas so we as partners can help with those investigations and help people out!! Thank you for the concern but I've been practicing traditional witchcraft for over 10 yrs. I am well aquainted with my craft and have studied many years, I think you may be talking about ceremonial magick, probably some derivative of solomonic practice....very different kind of magic, I am a hedge witch, or commonly known a green witch I work with herbs and plants phases of the moon, my work doesn't have the need for "demons", "gods" myself and many like me worship the Earth and the energy it brings, so thank you for your concern, but I am very well.off in the spiritual or supernatural world a reply to: Whatchful

I very much appreciate the concern, but I am very versed in my craft and do not rely on belief in such beings, I do not practice ceremonial or any kind of solomonic tradition. I have no fear of what walks and hides in the dark after helping others with exorcist. Basically I am the investigator before any priests arrive to the scene.

Got any links for that? In my experience that's really not even close to the truth. Scaremongering is neither big nor clever.

Magic works for some people in the same way prayer work for others. There are forms of magic which require the invoking of various different entities, the best advice I can give is stay away from invocations and summoning rituals. Also keep your intentions pure, like attracts like and if you go out casting bad JuJu, you will receive bad JuJu (much like constantly putting out negative energy will only draw negative energy to you).

Shamans and Magic Practitioners were around a long time before man imagined Demons and Wicca being evil is a myth, a simple fib told my the church to try and control the narrative.

Scottish here, have studied a lot of religious texts, Christianity never sat right with me so I decided to see what the other options were. Wicca resonated most with me and Nature is the God and Goddess in my eyes.

At the end of the day, whatever you believe, the chances are we really all believe in the same thing, some call it God, some call it Allah, some call it Odin, some call it the Horned God and the Mother Goddess but at the end of the day, no matter who you pray to, its logical to assume all prayers go the same place, the only real difference is how you imagine them.

The (fraudulent) daemons don't usually attempt to kill practitioners of witchcraft, or mediums for that matter. (It should be noted that they may attempt to isolate the individual from their family.) They either:

a) drain their life energy/vitality. They may request to borrow a person's body: www.reddit.com... Similar (deleted) story from Ukraine: i.imgur.com...

b) obsess a person by making them adopt their habits, identify with their interests, mistake their thoughts for their own, manipulating emotions, etc. People are most vulnerable to these attacks while asleep.

They may demand recompense for their services (for less than a person's soul, which they can never possess) and remind people how they were there for them in their time of need. In Slavic folklore, there's a story which describes the toll they (chorts) take on people who assign them tasks: gristlyhistory.blog...

There are extreme cases where a clairvoyant person with abilities may consciously give themselves completely over to a daemonic being (I wouldn't call it possession). Then there is an actual risk of death. But mediums (lacking abilities) who dabble in seances eventually suffer a fate worse than death.

Oh for f^ck's sake you're not a Witch, you're Christian who masqueraded as a Witch. What you said is not true at all, and this is probably not the place for you.

Maybe you worked with malevolent entities, or maybe you're just a negative pessimistic person so you manifested negative stuff based on your religious upbringing. I suspect both are true. Most witches don't do black magick though, and most witches DON'T work evil spirits.

Don't try to sway everyone from ALL forms of magik, just because YOU intentionally chose to work SPECIFICALLY with malevolent entities, and had a bad time. Duh. LMAO>

ALL forms of "magik" are detestable to the Lord God. Divination and sorcery good or bad, whatever label it has, is a path to spiritual oblivion. I was compelled to say this, this morning.

Just to be clear, I am not taking any sides here, I have no intention of aligning with exorcists.

Some friends I've known personally were turned down by Catholic priests when they came to them for help with hauntings. Understandably, they wanted nothing to do with the Catholic Church afterward. I'm under the impression that most Catholic priests are under-prepared for exorcisms.

In contrast, Orthodox or even Buddhist priests are more helpful and obliging. They hardly ask for a person's faith before moving to assist victims. (In Orthodoxy, all priests are required to know something of it.)

As for magic, not all of it is demonic!!!

In the first place, real magic would be inaccessible to a mankind which would abuse it. Walter Evan-Wentz defined it as: "the art of controlling for particular ends various kinds of invisible forces", especially intelligent spirits. In contrast, what Wicca practitioners believe to be magic is mostly harmless (except for curses), but usually invites self-destructive behaviour.

In Russia, there's a phenomenon known as Ikota, which afflicts mostly women: www.rbth.com... It's tantamount to a symbiotic obsession. The source of inspiration is less than ideal, but their abilities are mainly used to help people. In exchange, they feed on the person's vital force, but they don't demand anything else from them.

"First of all, it’s a way to wrap your negative feelings (enmity, envy, hatred, grievance) into a socially acceptable shell." This is actually a very sound principle. By endeavoring to put some good into a wrong profession, they become useful to the world. (Most vices are really deviations from a healthy instinct, such as jealousy stemming from a desire to protect a family.)

Here is a similar case for symbiotic obsession, from an interview I conducted with a mediumistic user. (For privacy reasons, I've omitted the name of spirits.) However, it was a case of ordinary mediumship which didn't really benefit both parties. The drawbacks were very interesting, the spirit gradually lost its memory of the other side, its identity, etc. People seem to believe mediumship is only harmful for the practitioner, they don't consider how it also affects the spirit's development.

It would be wise to analyze why would any demon attack you (or anyone). From their point of view, the demon is you. I would be interested in knowing the point of view of angels, humans, and demons. I feel they all pursue the same interests. Lately it has become increasingly difficult to distinguish angels, humans, and demons from the other.

Reminded me of Dorothy Eady's entity, which didn't like people learning about Akhenaten.

I believe angels would be unfamiliar with human manners and customs, but not in the way portrayed in a show like Good Omens (i.e. Gabriel spouting on about pornography as a way of hiding the reason for his visit). From the stories I read, they might be recognizable from their hand gestures. Perhaps they have long, slim hands, like those of the artists who they occasionally influence.

I believe demons show no consideration for higher things, as a result of being passionless, robotic. That'd explain humans who behave most like them. As a rule, shadow people and such are like moths drawn to a flame.

Gustav Mahler was familiar with these types:

I think an angel is not an angel 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Neither a demon or a human is always a demon or a human. An angel, a demon, or a human are angels, demons, or humans on average. This could explain why an angel can turn into a demon, a demon into a human, and a human into an angel.

What makes of you an angel, a demon, or a human in the end of the day is the decisions you take along the day. You can take angelic, demonic, or human decisions. You choose. You have free will.
