As you are not a UK resident, i think i know more about what i stated and linked than you do.

Unless you really think OFCOM are lying when they state they are in fact independent.

Unfortunately you are parroting again official lines and there is no evidence they are independent..
You fell into the same trap like everyone else who made the same claims.

You can't prove they are independent by arguing that they claim they are!

That's a terrible circular argument.

Clearly none of you can show us OFCOM is independent.

When you're asked for evidence you just cannot parrot official lines. That's not evidence.

nickyw and teapot have disagreed with the assertions made by others OFCOM is independent. The burden of proof are to those who made these assertions in the first place.

I am not from the UK so I cannot take your reassurances and official lines you're parroting as evidence of anything. The burden of proof is on you.

And clearly you choose to ignore the concept of Standards Of Practice, the law and Codes of Conduct ascertaining to Ofcom.
The trap you've fallen into is the trap of denail for denials sake.

If he wants to find someone who is lying, he should start with a Mr Donald Trump.

Plenty of material there.

Really? I think continuously posting 2 random strangers opinions without any links or evidence is parroting.

It's irrelevant to the conversation.
But you have fallen into the same trap as a few others by parroting official lines and presenting them as evidence Ofcom is independent.

I didn't make any claim if you remember.
I questioned the assertions made that Ofcom is independent.

I gave two examples of UK residents who think Ofcom is not independent.

On the other hand you and a few others keep parroting official lines as evidence they are independent.

These assertions have no substance.

The standards of practice are not evidence of anything.

Do you have any evidence??

It's your personal experience.
That doesn't make OFCOM independent.

Pages upon pages and still you're unable to even show something somewhere that we can say it's evidence.

Parroting official lines some strawman arguments.

Another strawman.
I have accused anyone of lying.
Just said nobody has been able to provide any evidence that OFCOM is independent.

Official lines
Parroting
And Ofcom apologetics.

You have to admit that you can't show anything as there is nothing to show.

The OFCOM official site states they are independent. You say there is no proof of that.

In my mind you are stating they are lying as you are doubting what they state.

Is that simple enough for you ?

To summarize the last 10 pages.

Vague terms like independent, steered, "accountable to", are able to take on very different meanings and have very different outcomes.

Would the creation of Ofcom been voted into law if the public knew beforehand, they would
allow adults naked in front of children but the ban medical professionals providing information?

Probably not....

Be careful of these agencies - lots of power to interpret things they way the please.

Specific criteria and means of oversight should always be attached - don't allow "it's for the children" nonsense to drive blanket authority. Otherwise, as in the case of Ofcom, the final result maybe the opposite of what you expected.
