That looks like crime being way down since 1990.

I'm not buying the handbasket to hell narrative. It's in people's heads. Some cities trending up and setting some records in 2020 and 2021, but national averages were still way below the crack epidemic highs of the late 80's and early 90's. And going down steadily overall since 2021.

People didn't care about the Ghetto killing each-other in 1991 when it wasn't a talking point to bash democrats with, why should anyone care now? Same cities. Same crime. Same poverty. Selective give a sh*t. A lot more republican-led cities existed in 1991, that's a main difference, democrat gun control the other one.

In San Diego, our Republican-led 80s and 90s crime statistics dwarf today's Democrat-led statistics, that do it with a smaller police department and 270,000 more people.

1991 - 141 homicides - population: 1,111,000 (Republican led city)
2021 - 57 homicides - population: 1,382,000 (Democrat led city)

Another city I lived in, Tucson, had 93 Homicides (a record) and a population of 550,000 in 2021. It's also a democrat city. Yet it had 36 more homicides and 830,000 less people as compared to San Diego. It's location is 50 miles further from the border as well.

If both are (usually) democrat run, with comparable race demographics, what is the difference that makes for so many more murders per capita in Tucson?

Nevada has a republican governor, and Las Vegas has an independent mayor. How are you twisting this to be the fault of democrats?

This is not a race baiting comment, but serious thought.

If you removed all gun violence committed blacks, where would that put the US? Anybody have those figures? It's late and I'm too tired to look for them.

ETA: This sheds some light on that question. A recent report, Crime and Enforcement Activty in New York City for the calendar year of 2022, released by the NYPD reveals that a wildly disproportionate amount of violent crime in NYC is committed by the black community.

Every other developed country in the world disagrees with you. We're a 3rd world country with smartphones.

I want America to be one of the countries where the cops don't even need guns, and I own guns.

Debunk this fact. A mass school shooting cannot happen without at least one gun. We're the only country in the world where our elementary students have to have active shooter drills. It's not because the teachers in other countries have guns.

It's not right vs. left, it's if there's guns there's going to be gun crimes AND, the thing that nobody ever mentions... more suicide. It's quick and painless.

Who are these active shooters? The thugs that you speak of?

I just have to ask - how long have you been on ATS?
