I was reading an article just this morning where the N Y City mayor was whining about 12,000 migrants a month entering NY. That's roughly 120,000 per year, and he's saying it will cost the state 12 BILLION dollars in tax money to support them.
Unless my math is off, that's 1 million per immigrant.

Vivek Ramaswamy agreed with Musk in an interview recently where he appears to support current border policies. Quoted from American Thinker:

"I want to say it in a way that ... everyone can understand, which, imagine if America is a pro-sports team[," Elon Musk said. "]We want to win the championship, and we want to keep winning the championship. And there are some ace players on another team, and they really want to join our team. And now we can make them fight us, or we can have them join our team and just crush [the championships]. And I think if ace players want to join our team, please do. That is the way to continue success. ... [We] should welcome them, not have all these ridiculous [immigration] obstacles.

"Exactly," the U.S.-born Ramaswamy responded.

The border crisis isn't meant to be 'fixed'....by either party. It would take a non-career and compromised politician who wants to put America first to address this crisis in any meaningful way.

something that hasn't been brought up, what of they cross in Arizona or from the northern border?

I think its obvious that the current administration is starting a fight with Abbott intentionally due to his border policies

What exactly is the fear of immigrants based on?

How does a person/people arriving in this country, PERSONALLY affect you? On a day-to-day basis?

Given 2 people that arrive here, one legally and one illegally, what is it specifically that changes something in your daily life?

I'm not supporting anything, just looking for answers to some very simple questions.

Right at this moment, no one is affecting me, but soon you will see why they are allowing the influx at the southern border.

Remember a couple months ago when it was announced Illinois will soon be allowing non-U.S. citizens, and those who were undocumented children, to become police officers?

Only non-U.S. citizens who are allowed to work in the U.S. under federal law and individuals who entered the country without valid documents as children but who were allowed to stay without fears of deportation under the DACA program will be able to apply to become part of Illinois law enforcement.

Can Illegal Immigrant become a police officer in Illinois?

This is only the beginning of such laws under the Democrat ruling. I have said for years on ATS that they will use the illegal citizens to police the legal ones who do not comply. When the hammer drops many US citizens will fight back, and the elite know this, so who else better to police us than those who want what we have? The government will offer safety for their families and land for their people if they keep us in line.
One state will adopt this, then another and another and then the rules will slacken even more.

Why do I think this? I'm first generation American, my Father and Grandfather came to this country in different decades. My Grandfather came here on a work Visa, entered WW2 and fought for America in the European theater. His prize, US citizenship.
There is a war on the horizon if you haven't noticed. The elite needs cannon fodder and oh looky, here they come across our southern borders.

My opinion, they want all the illegals here because we are about to go into the 80 year war cycle. The elites are planning ahead, they will need people to keep the country going as the youth goes off to battle.

And now that the illegals are here the states are fighting between each other where they need to go, but the fed just wants them here, so they could careless.

So they're getting money that you're not? If they weren't coming here you still wouldn't be getting that, right?

Nothing you mentioned answers the question. How does this affect your daily life?

And I don't buy the "low wage" line. If anything, it keeps the costs of goods down in some aspects.

Gangs, drugs, rape and crime have existed before border-crossings were a thing, right?

I'll field this one. Every illegal pulls resources away from other programs. Ever wonder why our infrastructure is so outdated? Look at where we waste money. A bigger deal right now is the fact schools are not equipped to deal with the influx on non English speaking students they are receiving. English as a second language is a special program and it requires planning. The number of students that need the program feed how many teachers are needed. But of course with the rush to spread the misery of the illegals there was no planning for this!
It's offensive that you act as if the money is the issue, I will compare it to a cat hoarder. Yea they may have the money, but when you pile too many cats into a residence it becomes a health hazard. It becomes a health Hazzard for a variety of reasons, not just one. Waste, territorial fights, and a boom of offspring that health issues due to poor living conditions. Let's not forget those offspring snowball the costs of taking care of them, taking away more resources.
If it was about money why was it not spent on helping them in their own country? The US has its own people that are not being taken care of because of the misguided need to "help" these illegals.

Very well explained. 👍

New York is already throwing temper tantrums and they've only received a small fraction that have overwhelmed border towns.

Me personally, higher insurance rates because they tend to flee the scene, less resources for my grandkids education in schools because they are teaching English to kids that don't know a word of English instead. If I have a heart attack, I may not get great care because the hospital is overcrowded with people that have no primary dr, no insurance, and they just come to the ER. Higher crime rate. Hell, Ive been getting the city to evict the roosters and for every single rooster gets evicted from the neighborhood, 3 take his place. I dont live in the country, we aren't to have roosters. They raise them for fighting. Along with the pit bulls. Puppies are extra income, so there are puppy mills in backyards here everywhere. You cant walk in the park any more for all the unlicensced food vendors selling who knows what kind of food, not even from trucks. From push carts.

Houses in my neighborhood are selling for 750,000 and these are the conditions, I cant even imagine what its like in a less middle class suburb.

I agree that they want large labor class. War does seem to be inevitable.

The next election is really really important.

Biden should just give Texas back to Mexico.

That's what he's basically doing anyway.

It effects me to see that the POTUS is breaking the law betraying every
American citizen. We're being invaded and replaced in our own country

How does it effect you if immigrants come here without breaking the law?

Considering Texas history, they might just say, "come and take it" to both US and Mexico and become a Republic again. They have a boatload or two of oil. And other resources.
